  1. To be honest, I haven't got a clue what players we have anymore - in contract, apart from the nippers that is, to help me make an informed decision on what we need to spend. Maybe we won't need to spend as much as some are suggesting, as long as we have a regular set of players to choose from. I think a lot of our problems were due to the amount of different players that were coming and going, at one point last season I gave up looking at the team sheet and just cheered those players in our colours ;-) I'm confident that the likes of Patterson, Holmes, McLaggon, Schneiderlin, Gillet, Lallana, Gobern, Lancashire will be able to cut the mustard in this league. I'd look for a few seasoned pros to add alongside them, of which we may already have, if Rasiak, John and the likes of them stay. I think the outlay may not be too great at first, see how they are getting on in the first few months of the season and then when the window opens again, buy then; if needed that urgently. I'd certainly suggest we get some seasoned old pros with a bit of mental guile to add a bit of steel, a centre-half maybe and a ball winner in the middle of the park would be on the top of my list. I wouldn't be knee-jerking quite yet as there is a lot of talent still at Saints and this league is not at competitive as the Championship, in terms of players ability and I see a few of the younger names coming to prominence as the season progresses. Of course, I wouldn't say no to five million being outlayed, for the right type of quality players, but at this moment in time I don't see it being desperate. I'd be more inclined to look for quality in the coaching and managing departments and find the right staff who can get the best out of a very good pool of talent for this level of football. Also, maybe the exertions and added experience some of the players gained through taking an active part in last years campaign will prove invaluable and has helped them develop and prepare better for the season ahead.
  2. A couple of good choices there Harvey. Can anyone send me 'Forever Autumn' or direct me to a MP3 site that's free?
  3. Robbie, no offence intended but Lawrie Mac should have no role in the next phase of our redevelopment. I find him very disruptive and an undermining influence when he doesn't get his way and he should have no direct role in the day to day running of the club or when dealing with the media. I respect what he has achieved in the past but he has been feeding off that for over 30 years now and getting away with thing's that others would have been severely criticized for. I really do think that it's time to move on and start afresh, move out the dead wood that associates itself with the club and bring in new faces and fresh ideas. MLT I would have no issues with at all, I don't think he has any hidden agenda and is man enough to accept decisions that might not go his way with good grace and without sulking. I believe he has a positive mental attitude and would be great to have working to take the club forward.
  4. The way I feel about the whole situation leads me down the path of the Blue Square Premier. I just feel like making that clean break and enjoying football and SFC again away from the circus we have become. I mean, how many false dawns or loony ****s can one club have connected with them? We seem to have opened up a vicious Pandora's box.
  5. Sorry, they have just changed my medication again and it's messing with my head.
  6. Such a brave boy behind your keyboard. I'm in South Brum, just a short drive from you. If you fell so strongly about it, give me your number via PM and we'll meet up and discuss it, be nice to see how pithy you are when confronted face to face.
  7. Looks like there were a few that don't appreciate the wonderful and free life they lead thanks to armed forces, not just here, but across the world. There are some groups that just thrive on hatred. Ungrateful Mongs
  8. It won't last long with a miserable and grumpy **** like him. She'll soon get ****ed off with his special needs tantrums and sulking. I would give her one though too.
  9. I'm laughing at those that have judged him, or are "less than impressed", based on that fleeting interview. I guess the image some have built in their minds was based on the stereotype of grey hair, upper class, in his fifties[minimum] and drives a chauffeur driven Jaguar;-)
  10. Great news, I guess they realise they now have no option but to accept the leagues decision and buy the club anyway, unless the Pinnacle group have an ace up their sleeve that they are about to put on the table.
  11. Do they undertake any training or road awareness before they are issued with one? I have seen numerous people on these devices blithely driving up dual-carraiagways or trying to manoeuvre around busy roundabouts. They cause utter mayhem and I do wonder at times if they are safe to use on the roads, assuming they should be used on the higways in the first place.
  12. Is there anyway someone can view that that'snot in the UK? Could you post the link or details if it's possible? ta
  13. Is that any good? I had a free upgrade according to Virgin but that doesn't mean anything to me. Could someone explain it as what's upload 0.24 and ping 71ms?
  14. Wow......another poster that reads something that's not there. I've yet to see where Dicko has alluded to anything otherwise.
  15. Indeed Dicko, I just got the impression that they already know more than they are telling us but are keen to protect peoples private lives who may also have been involved in such thing's. If she was, fair play to her, I wouldn't judge her either but it would appear that those who do get involved in that lifestyle are a close knit group and discretion is a must. Then again, my overactive imagination is probably getting it all wrong again.
  16. What's with all the veiled comments from the Police and presenter? Such as "I'm not here to judge Claudia's relationships" or "There are aspects of her private life that appear to be tangled" or words to that effect. I hope she wasn't on the game/swinger or any of that.....hope I read it all wrong.
  17. Pompey Chimes ;-(
  18. They have been battered, I think Ferguson got his initial team selection wrong and they bottled it when the pressure was really on. Maybe it was Barcelona's year when you think about how lucky they were against Chelsea but they have outplayed Man Utd tonight and fully deserved their victory. In a way, I'm kind of glad as we won't have the mass ****fest of annoying Man U fans swearing their allegiance to Argentina, maybe a bit of humble-pie will do them good. I had to laugh at the losers who were singing 'Argentina, Argentina!' on the pre-match TV build up......I do wonder what sad, little pondlife some Man Utd fans are......on that note, I'm glad they lost. Fergie.....tonight, your boys took a beating and I take my hot off to Barcelona as they were the better side by a country mile. Well done!
  19. Yes. I'm prepared to vote for a smaller party in the hope of them getting more seats. Mainstream parties have had enough time to deal with issues that directly affect us in the real world and they have all failed miserably over the last ten years, it's just lip service and then they just revert to type once they get elected or re-elected. I concede that it may be a wasted vote but if there is a knee-jerk vote by the British public and a/the smaller parties win more seats, especially in areas that the mainstream parties have took for granted for years, maybe then they will start to actively listen and realise that their decisions have a huge impact on the lives of people who are struggling to live a normal life and those very normal people are the ones who see the scum and filth of society, seemingly being rewarded for failure. 1) Deal with Immigration policies. 2) Pull out of the EU. 3) Vote no to a European army. 4) Deal with the benefits system and those that think money just grows on trees without realising people have to work hard to pay for it 5) NHS - Time to put British citizens first and i'd even go as far as to suggest there be a queue for those that work and another for those that don't or haven't worked for over twelve-months consecutive. I'd not have this queue for major operations but see no reason why the smaller operations shouldn't be prioritised to those that have to work for a living. I'm just kidding on some of those of course, well maybe not on principle but that's another issue. So, what parties would I be suited to? I've yet to analyse the literature that I keep getting through the door for the European elections but I'll make time soon. Do you think I could be a UKIP voter or closet Tory? ;-)
  20. I especially like the quotes his missus made about our women, they made me chuckle and although they are not particularly pleasant I can see how she has formed that opinion.
  21. Can anyone suggest a CD which contains the best music from 'The Velvet Underground'? I've looked on CD wow and there are a few pages of stuff but am looking to get a best of type CD to start off with - but there are about ten of them with all different stuff on.
  22. I watched 'Taxi Driver' this morning in bed. It's got to be one of the greatest films ever made and it has some fantastic quotes.
  23. Nice one Stu, very impassioned and I totally agree with your emotions. It does always seem that the fans are the ones that are taken for mugs, I doubt one Saints current player gives a **** about our current plight as they will still earn a wage elsewhere as another club will offer them a lifeline if we do go bust - something which the club itself may not have the luxury of if this situation drags on much longer.
  24. I thought this might be best to ask under this thread. Anyway, could anyone advise me of how I get rid of hidden cookies in a Mac? Apparently these cookies don't show up on a tif list and are hidden. I have no idea but I got asked the question and have no idea and I know there are some Mac lovers on here who may know. Thanks
  25. Have you actually tried it or just what you've read in a magazine that wants you to buy their expensive product that just does the same job? I've used washing up liquid for years and my old vinyl play fine and the quality hasn't been reduced. I have had a few scratches on vinyl that have been repaired with this old trick. I'm sure times have moved on since I used vinyl but it's never harmed or damaged a vinyl in all the years I used it. However, i'm sure some magazine will convince people that they should buy their product for a tenner as using washing up liquid will burn a hole in your vinyl or something else that is likely to put fear into a vinyl enthusiast. I can only go on what I've tried and it's been a faithful servant over the years and when I do feel nostalgic and wish to play some old 33's, 45's or 78's, they sound just lovely.
