I think the Sky news/Sky sports news coverage has been totally embarrassing and they should issue a public apology for totally over the top and misleading reporting. If they don't really know, they should shut up and release further news once the situation has ceased to be so fluid and there are people, close to Tiger Woods who can give definitive news on his welfare. When the news first broke and by the tone that they were reporting in, I thought he could die, it turns out he's had a bit of a prang in his motor and has got a few facial marks/scars. I am finding it very laughable but still annoyed at the same time. Latest from Sky - 'He has facial injuries and we don't know where he has obtained them from as his airbag didn't activate'......errrr, I have a hunch it might have been the minor prang in his motor and as he was travelling at a moderate speed, the airbag is unlikely too. It seems Sky are intimating that he was attacked.

Yuk Would anybody still do her when she's on the rags? I assume this concludes the discussion about her having an iron rod?

I tend to find this site answers a lot of my broadband queries. I'm looking to move off Virgin myself, due to the fact that I don't need the landline anymore. However, they will only knock £2per month off the price if I don't have the phone; hence not worth leaving them. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband#packages

Interesting blog about the situation in Cumbria. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/markeaston/2009/11/is_cumbria_a_victim_of_climate.html

This was discussed on talksport last night. One caller, rightly stated that the average goal celebration lasts 45 seconds, therefore, any contentious goal could be analysed via video replays long before the game restarted anyway. All it would take is the referee to speak to the fourth referee, who would be watching the game on the monitor, he'd verify that the goal stood, or should be ruled out and the game benefits. Quite why F.I.F.A are so against it is totally beyond belief, it stinks of some old gentlemans club who don't like change and are determined to be bloody minded, for the sake of being bloody minded, blithely unaware of how their actions are having a detrimental effect on the modern game.

Tis true....Irish, Welsh, Scots are very insular in their ways and would probably be celebrating in the streets if England had been knocked out in such circumstances. So, maybe, it's just rough justice and will be forgot about by the weekend. Had to laugh at people on TV saying that it was instinctive, as if instinctive cheating isn't cheating and makes it justifiable. His mindset was to cheat, it could have just as instinctively chose not to handle the ball but a conscious decision was made to handle the ball. What's the difference - none. Anyway, like TDD has stated, they'd not give a toss about us so maybe I am just being a bit soft this evening.
-
It was always going to happen. Pity that it couldn't be a goal of quality, instead of another player deliberately cheating. Henry should be ashamed of himself, he won't give a toss about cheating, nor will anyone else in football - but what can be done about it. It's just rough justice on the Irish as they have been clearly the superior side over both legs. Let's hope they get one to go through.

Who really cares about England v Brazil
Barney Trubble replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Lounge
Yes, bear in mind that only about five of that England 'B' team will be going to South Africa. The real team are injured. Which does worry me, as I don't see many out there who are making me think they can take one of the regulars place in the England team. It's time for Capello to cut the wheat from the chaff and stop fiddling about with 'good, but not that good' type of players, such as Bent, Jenas and Brown, then again, maybe his hand is forced unless he looks at players from lower Premiership clubs or the Championship. I really do think that Kevin Davies would be a fantastic target man and could easily play the role that Capello wants Bent to play.....am I on my own? -
Cheers Boggy:)

Ski Sunday. Hill Street Blues M.A.S.H Tales of the Unexpected Moonlighting I also used to like the tune to a tv series about a cruise ship, something along the lines of the Odean Line, I think it used to be on Sunday evenings.

I don't think there is any excuse for spelling someones name wrong, it stinks of rushing and a doing it out of duty, as opposed to any real feeling of empathy, how can there be any real 'feeling' in what he wrote when he didn't even take the time to spell the persons name correctly. General misspellings happen, I am not a good speller either but I don't think there is any excuse for something as simple as getting a persons name spelt correctly as laid out in front of you in black and white. Even with his poor eyesight, he should have had it checked by someone to verify, he's the PM, if he can't be arsed then what example does that set for the rest of us. He could pull all our troops out of course, instead of hiding behind the terrorist nonsense to justify why we are even there. That way, he won't have to write to any other grieving parents.

Anthems that make your hairs stand on end..

Not only is this song so thought provoking, it brings a lump to my throat when I hear it. -
I don't throw much away St.Landrew. In fact, I am the opposite and hate to throw food away. Last month I found some Salmon pate at the back of the fridge, it had been opened and there was some of that green furry stuff at the one end of the jar [Penicillen?], I just got the knife and scooped out the furry green stuff and made some sandwiches for work out of the remainder. I was not sick after eating and it tasted lovely. I think 'best before' dates are another tool to mislead us into pointless waste as the manufacturers are well aware of peoples fears and ignorance when it comes these issues. They are well aware that people will see a date and throw it away out of fear. Isn't that what we have senses for? Surely common sense would tell us that if it smells like it shouldn't smell then it may not be edible. Right, off to check if I can find anything in the fridge for my lunch.

Another outrageous decision in favour of one of the big four, never a penalty. Thank **** we ain't part of this **** anymore. Hopefully by the time we get back in the top league the likes of Man Ure, Liverpool will have gone and formed their European elite league, leaving the proper clubs to rise again.

Same here about growing up with that fear. I still remember that film called 'Threads', set in Sheffield. That was a well directed film and I remember thinking that an attack was imminent.

I bet those that paid to have a brick with their name inscribed on the wall were annoyed. It sort of reminded me of when the away coaches at St. Marys started paving over my slab.

Oh sorry, didn't mean to offend. I was looking at the site for dodgy council practices(s), when I came across that section. In don't necessarily agree with the comments but I think that it raises some valid points, especially under the 'people' header, especially like the Freemasons section:D

Amy? As in private messages? Funny you should mention Javi, I noticed that his Spanish Saints site is now defunct. I wonder if his love affair with the club has gone. -
The "Missing Posters" Appreciation Thread
Barney Trubble replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Lounge
You just had to comment didn't you, instead of just ignoring it. Anyway, missing posters.....someone mentioned Ascoli, he's on here still using another name. A good poster I agree. Erm, who was Paul Allen? Was he a wind up merchant, I seem to remember him being quite amusing. I quite liked Maverick and Wurzel, both amusing but serious if they needed to be. Who was that fit bird with the dark hair? In her twenties I think, she used to post around the same time as Red and White Panda and had a nice photo in the gallery, in the halycon days of Keiths SF. Actually, what is Keith doing with himself these days? Is is on here? Anybody know what ' Charlie' is doing with himself these days? I know he was a good source of amusement and had the **** ripped out of him but he seemed a nice enough guy, if slightly naive. -

U.S. Military may lift ban on women in submarines
Barney Trubble replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Lounge
Joan of Arc was one of the greatest female leaders of all time, I would have her in the top section, as opposed to the bottom, purely based on her heroics at the battle of Orleans. Plus she never cried when she was burned - that's pretty tough in my opinion;) I'm thinking that not allowing women onto submarines is more due to the fear of man not being able to control himself when away for months on end. I'm sure if it's a choice of cracking one off or pinning some young bit of stuff to the bed and emptying your load, then the temptation for the latter would be quite high. Cabin Fever can do all sorts of thing's with the mind. On a more serious note, do any other countries with a serious armed forces allow female personnel on Submarines when on active duty? -
I am inclined to agree, as I stated in post 54. I'm now starting to think that it's just that Pardew isn't getting the best out of the team. One league win simply isn't good enough.
