The torture never ends does it with Saints. Just when you think the game is almost safe, we do this......i've lost count of the times it's happened. Oh well, another game and another debate about what could and should have been by the sounds of it.

Spot on Delldays. Lowe is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Lowe gets critized for his apparent ego and yet I would say that that his ego is dwarfed in comparison to some of the egos that post on here. What happened in the period between Lowe going and coming back summed it up for me. I was told that I would see the club rise again now the evil Lowe has had his iron grip on the club taken away. What happened that was so brilliant for the club in that period? err.........**** all. I have an openmind and am not in a Lowe in, our out camp, I judge every decison he makes on it's individual merits and I agree that it's just tiresome twaddle by some posters on here now. I have concluded that they would get greater pleasure from seeing Lowe fail and their self-fulling prophecies being realised than being proved wrong and Lowe doing something positive and constructive with the club. I guess as fans we are caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

You are just as bad at times with your sickening, pathetic jibes. What sort of person makes comments using that vile 'N' word just to make a point or have a cheap dig at someone, even if they are opposed to racism. If you had any understanding of what you think you are talking about then you'd stay well clear of the word. Your use of the 'N' word is totally inappropriate to express a point and is offensive. Whoooooahhhhh....................hark at me on my self-righteous soapbox:rolleyes::-)
-
If there is racism then I assume that the particular poster(s) concerned would be banned. Maybe that's happened and their posts deleted? The Hacienda seems to have had his account removed but he wasn't being abusive from what I can see. I can't find anything that's blatantly racist, the only person who's mentioned the disgusting 'N' word doesn't appear to be supportive of the far right and yet he chooses to mention it by abusing the filter. I'm sorry, but to mention that word, even in jest, is just as bad and they should receive bannings too. Maybe I am skimming too much and need to read the posts in a more thorough manner.
-
This is a good thread but whats with all the nonsense about burning crosses and other childish taunts? Just because others have a different viewpoint to those who make such comments and may have leanings towards the far right of centre, I don't think that gives anyone the right to assume they are racist. I'm starting to get embarrassed on behalf of posters who make such references.

Not really. Just wang it in the back of a van and find somewhere dark, throw it all out and avoid putting it in your bin or recycle bin. I doubt the type that flytip give a monkeys about recycling their rubbish and if they have to pay for the amount they throw away then they'll just do it somewhere else instead of the bin/s. I'm not sure you have much contact with the real dregs of society. Logic is not an option. Yes I can. I've lived in some rough places in my time and fly-tipping was par course on some estates. The usual tipping areas would be small business estates that had little or no overnight security. They'd just take the van/pick up one night a week/fortnight and dump the lot. Some used to exchange the best fly-tipping spots in the local area over a pint. Sad, but true.
-
All very good and well in principle. I'd be concerned though that society's scum would just dump their junk and rubbish elsewhere. I bet fly tipping would double in some areas. Like most things, it works if you lived in a good communitiy or those that live in a reasonably affluent area. I agree with it totally but I can't see it working in some of the flea pit communities in Birmingham or many other council estate areas across the country. I find that people tend to help and support each other in the more affluent places and would make thing's like this work, in the poor areas it can be a case of every man/person/family for themselves.

Economics isn't my strong point but I don't see how Labours VAT cutting isn't going to help sort this problem out. From what I understand, we are millions in debt and this is down to people overspending or not being able to pay back credit that they may have taken, So how can encouraging people to spend more or go further into debt actually be good in the long term? Or is it a case of deal with the immediate problem now and just hope hope thing's sort themselves out long term? Personally, I don't see the benefit of lending more money at this moment in time and then in another couple of years, forcing our arm to pay it all back by increased national insurance contributions or another stealth tax that labour will think up in the interim period. To me, we need to borrow less money. I'm not Labour or Tory etc and you'll have to excuse my naive understanding of the crisis but I don't see how digging a bigger hole for yourself to get out of can be beneficial.

Reading V Saints Post Match thoughts and reaction
Barney Trubble replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
Add that to a very unlucky defeat against top of the league last week and it illustrates that we are only two experienced players from being a very good team. I have no worries that we can rise up this league as Wolves were not a superior side to us last week either. -
Stearman went in as hard for Wolves but the referee was only interested in penalising Saints players for challenges. He couldn't wait to get his yellow card out whenever we did anything contentious, when it was a Wolves player clattering into one of our lads, then it was 'play on'. I'm sure the referee had his whistle in his mouth whenever a Saints player got within breathing distance of a Wolves player, he seemed to already trying to pre-empt a decision. As for the linesman on the KIngsland stand in the second half then he wa just as inept, twice he gave decisions for the ball being out, when the ball was clearly not all over the line. Match Officials 2 Saints 1 There is nothing in that challenge that warranted a red card.

Apart from the five to twenty five minute period, we were the better side. It was that short spell though were we lost it, I really don't understand how a team can just fall apart like that, Wolves could have been four or five nil up with some better finishing. After that, we looked a better side and I think once Pearce got one back, then it was a question of time before we equalised. The sending off changed things in that respect and limited our options of how to claw the game back. Wolves can count themselves very lucky to have got three points out of this and if they are a team six points clear at the top then i'm optimistic that we can easily finish in the top half of this league with a bit of better fortune. If the management of this club could just look a bit further long term and convince the banks that it's actually in their best interests to cut us some slack financially then I think with an experienced striker such as John or Rasiak back and a grumpy old bastard of a centre half on loan then the rest will fall into place. The centre half doesnt have to be the quickest, just dominant and positive, we seem to have too many passive players in defence and this is costing us as we are too hesitant, we just need someone who isn't frightened of making a decision. Killer is in that mould but I fear we can't count upon him to be there too often. At times our passing play was a joy to watch and after travelling back on a mini bus of Wolves fans they were surprised that we are in such a dire position in the league with our style of play but found our defence to be a little embarrassing and the only reason that we can't climb this leage[can't argue with that]. Most felt that we were one of the better teams they had played this season. The thing that still gripes with me is that, once again, I can't help thinking that we lost the game due to the referee and not to a team that is top of the league, if you know what I mean. The margins were that tight and if Wolves are the superior team in this league then we don't have to meddle too much with what we already have to claw our way back up this league.

I bought one of these Umbrellas, certainly a better Christmas gift than another pair of socks. http://www.greatwar.co.uk/umbrella/index.htm

I want to do something real mental too Stevo. One day i'm going to do something totally crazeeeeeee like climb a big tree or something , I have a vision of people forming a big crowd around the tree and looking up at me with startled expressions and pointing. If my imagination get's too excited I imagine the Police coming and everything and telling me to get down but I say 'NO, YOU'll NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE.......' then people will know I am really mad and stuff Yeah man. 'nuff respect.

To all those who were subjected to a 'Section 60' at Swansea
Barney Trubble replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Saints
What a nonsense attitude. I've never been stopped, searched etc at a football game[apart from the turnstile] since the late seventies, when I started going to football games. I don't cause any bother, like a drink and all that but I think it does matter, it's the principle of the thing. I have nothing to hide but would have been annoyed if I had of been searched too for no reason. I think it's a disturbing trend that Police seem to think they can do what they want to football fans and hide behind contrived legislation to justify it. I don't like gobby drunken *****s either at football games but that doesn't give me the right to assume that they are intentionally looking for trouble. It's situations like these when Police don't do themselves any favours, why have such a bad attitude? I couldn't think of anything more likely to start trouble than some law enforcer on a mission to hide behind his uniform to try and justify treating people with such contempt. Wouldn't it be easier to just be friendly and agreeable to fans? If they start trouble, then sure, I've got no issues with Old Bill giving them a few digs, if justified, but I just don't like all the needless posturing from the Police, it really doesnt help. Also, why do people wrongly assume that because someone has an issue with something that there must be some reason for that or they something to hide? Can't people have an opinion these days based on their principles, morals and ethics in life without people assuming that they must have an hidden agenda? :smt102 -
Chris Moyles - Fat and gobby ****. Just what i'd expect from a Leeds fan.

Can someone pay St.Georges fiver please? I don't necessarily agree with what he writes, but like others on here, I do like to have my thinking challenged and I think he raises valid discussion points. I don't understand American politics that well and am just trying to gain a better understanding of the Republicans and Democrats. There has been some interesting posts for both sides but it's a little one sided at times and if you disagree with Obama being elected then it would appear to be frowned upon, and I'd like to understand why that is as i'm sure both parties have their good and bad traits and policies, regardless of your political leanings.

The ones that look like cola cubes are quite nice, if it's those then you'll be fine.

Thanks Steve. Also, forgot to mention, I accidentally deleted my recycle bin icon from off the desktop. I still get the option of sending stuff there but can't empty it as I don't know where to find it now. Any ideas how to get it back? ta

I've managed to delete a lot of worthless crap that was using too much memory. Also, I've got files on my system that haven't been opened for over 12 months and are over 70MB in size, I imagine stuff like that can't be doing it a lot of good and I doubt i'll ever need to use it again. It's now down to a reasonable level of time for boot-up/shut down and I'll have to accept that Vista is **** and so are Iqon laptops. How do I find out the RAM type that I have so I can get an additional memory stick from ebay? There is additional space in the laptop but I'm not sure whatb type to get. The system information just says '1GB RAM'. Boot up time now takes about 90 seconds and the same for shut down, not brilliant but better than the five or ten minutes either way that it was before.

R.I.P Paula Condolences to all family and friends

Interesting stuff gents and thanks. There are only two programs that are ticked in the 'start up' tab, those being my anti virus[Kapersky] and Java Platform[sun Microsystems]. I'm considering deleting registry strings of thing's that are no longer installed on the laptop, then again, that could really make thing's worse. I have booted in normal mode and safe mode and scanned for spyware, virus's etc but there is nothing suspicious. I don't quite understand it as there doesn't seem to be a lot wrong but at times it seems to stall when shutting down. I must confess though that Vista has given me nothing but trouble and i'd use XP except that it came installed with Vista. The SaintFC I have already run this and it hasn't found anything. St.Landrew Thanks for the tips. I've taken on board a lot of what you have said about 'add-ons', I use firefox browser and have been adding daft thing's, they wil now be removed.

Brand and Woss have Sachs...on the phone.
Barney Trubble replied to saint lard's topic in The Lounge
LOL. In that case you won't mind me saying that your Mom has a face like a busted arsehole and was a bit of a slapper before your Dad screwed her, if you have a sister then shes probably a slag as well. I wish I had your number then i'd leave you a voicemail just so that you got the message loud and clear. I'm no do gooder type but I don't take too lightly to abuse of my family in a real life situation As you aren't particularly bothered and have no respect for your family name or daughter then I thought i'd abuse yours as you think it's such a big larf..... -

Just seen it on the news this morning and although I have no issues with his daughters lifestyle choice, apparently shes a member of the satanic sluts which is some sort of arty but extreme type of stage show[ I think they all look sexy :-)] The only issue is that there was no need to have brought Sacha into this, I wouldn't want four messages on my phone making lewd and suggestive remarks about my daughter - try and empathise and ask if you'd like somebody doing this to you about your daughter before you pass judgment. I like Jonathon Ross but don't think much of the other guy, he lives off posturing in the media and is about as funny as Chris Moyles. I understand the spirit it was meant in but the blokes in his seventies and I come from a background where nobody badmouths my famiy without consequences, have a go at me anytime but my family is a different matter. I'm sure most of you would feel the same if you received nonsense like that about your daughter out of the blue and via voicemail. -
Hats off to Hull.. Keep it up, you are an inspiration
Barney Trubble replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Yep.He's never been the greatest footballer that ever graced the Premiership but you can't buy positive attitude, commitment and sheer determination. That's what Windass has always had and those three thing's are just some of the ingredients that are underpinning Wigans current success. Maybe if we had a few more players who are prepared to sweat and give all to the cause then our position might not look so precarious. Good luck Hull as its great to see them doing what they are doing and I hope they keep it up. I'd LOL if they took a Champions league spot off the teams that think it's solely for them.
