Sounds to me like he has reiterated to the club he'd like to play Champions League, but wont throw his toys out the pram if nothing comes along imminently. We have said if we receive an acceptable offer from a Champions League side he can go.

To be honest I wouldn't necessarily read too much in to JWP following Ings on Instagram. They will know each other from the U21's. That said, it does seem as though he will be joining us but I believe the Instagram bit is a mere coincidence.

Given the upheaval of this summer, in all honesty I'd accept 17th now if someone offered it to me. I hope I feel much more enthusiastic at the end of the window.

I'm not convinced it was a dig to be honest. Those interviews came across unnatural and very 'pre briefed' IMO.
