I keep wondering could this be part of the reason we seem more open to offers than we should be (particularly baring in mind the TV income and prize money increase). Are we increasing our income in order that we can spend more significantly on the squad as a whole, or is transfer revenue not taken into account?

Exactly this and something I've been banging on about for a while. The players were unfortunately sold an unrealistic dream so this situation was somewhat inevitable. My only hope is that we can attract a similar calibre of player without the need to seemingly promise them Champions League football within their first contract term.

At the moment I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the prospect of Pelle, I just don't get a great feeling about it. I think we need to be looking for a proven striker from a much stronger domestic league in addition to Pelle.

I'm glad someone started this thread. CL I used to really enjoy your posts back in the day, I don't know whats happened to you. What is the reason your not expanding on your hints and nudges? Is it that you don't want to over commit so you look silly if it doesn't happen? Are you now not allowed to? Even back during the infamous takeover threads you used to share 'ITK' information via pm which never actually came to fruition so please put up or shut up. Anyone can say 'well, well, well' etc when another players departs. The writing is on the wall whether you are genuinely ITK or not, I can also play that game.

Oh FFS! To be honest, if any of our squad end up at Spuds that will be a MASSIVE kick in the balls. They are not, and will not be a consistent Champions League team. The only time I could accept the likes of Morgan leaving is to a big European side.

I genuinely believe we have got the better deal for Lallana. Yes he is a good player but his arrogance is clearly influencing his game and work rate now. I think he will start for Liverpool for the first couple of months of the season then will start to drift into the background.

People need to realise that we are in the middle of a necessary transition. As big a fan as I was of him, players (and fans) were sold an unrealistic dream under Cortese, hence we have a tidal wave of players supposedly wanting out. We will replace them with talented players who are sold the club on more REALISTIC targets. That is not to say our ambition has decreased in any way, it's to say we are targeting Europa League first and foremost, not Champions League after 2/3 seasons back in the Premiership. Hopefully this will eventually lead to a more settled squad to provide continuity to achieve those ambitions rather than jumping ship after one season of not finishing in the top 4 (I'm looking at you Dejan Lovren and Luke Shaw).

Why do they keep banging on about punishing Liverpool. They're not, they're punishing the player. It was Liverpool's decision to keep hold of him last time he did it, they have to learn to take the rough with the smooth. I'm very critical of all things FIFA but they just about got this right, with perhaps a bigger financial fine included.

Thanks KBS. All in all a good appointment, though yet to succeed at this level. I'm quietly confident though we're the right club for him to make his mark. I'm guessing an imminent announcement now one of our ITK's has been allowed this information.

Jesus, some of you really need to spend some time off this forum and go out in the sunshine. There's a whole world out there. We will have a new manager within a week so stop stressing. Two weeks is not a long time to finalise a new manager contract, let alone carry out the whole the interview process. Its not like we have a cup final this weekend so have a bit of patience. I'd far rather we take our time providing we get the right man to continue our success.
