Probably just repeating what the papers are saying.

Given he works for the echo, if he has access to that sort of exclusive it would be plastered all over today's papers/their website surely.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included
saint_ed replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
So looks like all three are reserves then if squad numbers are anything to go by. -
Don't forget he has openly admitted he is a Southampton fan, he may just be clutching at straws like the rest of us are.

Looks like Vela is going back to Arsenal. They have first option on him

That's the problem in some peoples mind though, some things SHOULD have happened. A clear structure and strategy needs to have filtered though the club which clearly hasn't happened given the snippets we are getting from people whom should be well enough placed to gauge such an effect. Lets not forget, Ralph had been in and around the club for some time 'overseeing' so really should have devised a new strategy. We need to be intelligent enough to read between the lines, and right now the noises direct from the mouths of the playing squad are not exactly encouraging ones!

On face value without a shadow of a doubt. It is impossible to argue with his track record. To some on here they seem to prioritise kit design and being friendly over a successful organisation/club. The team could play in toy story outfits for all I care, I want my team to be successful and not be plundered by the big clubs at every opportunity. Of course the real time to answer this question though should be at the end of the summer, but I must say I am unimpressed with the new board so far (to be honest ever since I first heard Ralph speak publicly). The biggest frustration I have is wanting to know Cortese's motive, clearly he is about to make a comeback somewhere as his PR machine seems to be going into overdrive. Also interesting to note his answer of 'never' to the question of whether he would return to the club.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
saint_ed replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
To those saying that Cortese is pre-empting the sales and getting his two pennies worth in now to make us think 'what could have been', on that basis that fact he is advising MoPo to think very carefully before jumping ship could arguably suggest he knows he is staying so wants to come across like the wise power who gave him the advice to stay on. Just a thought.... -
I just don't buy this theory any more though. He would have potentially undone all of the good work so would be left with an unrecognisable Southampton if we are to believe every rumour, how would that be of benefit with the exception of shaving pocket change off the value. I also don't believe KL would even sell to him out of principle.
-
But what is his motivation?? Surely he has far better things to do that sh!t stir against a former employer, ego or no ego.
-
Neil Ashton is such an arse! That article is nothing but biased sensationalist scaremongering based on no actual evidence (typical Mail admittedly). He can't go on like this surely....how can the club put a stop to it, if at all?
-
The players are all on holiday or reporting for international duty. Why would anyone be calling them to let them know....I can assure you the fans are far more worried than the players are right now. In terms of public announcements, there is nothing to talk about. You are choosing to get swept up in the media hurricane.

If supposedly Mancini has confirmed his availability (Tancredi Palmeri), then I think 10/1 looks great odds!
-
This. I think it will be a priority for us this summer.
-
Call me a cynic but this 'Break the Bank' exclusive smacks of a PR move by Saints to deflect the criticism if/when Poch does move. They can defend their stance by claiming to have offered him this bumper deal but ultimately his heart was set on Spurs.
-
FDB or Thomas Tuchel would be my shortlist.
-
He's just joined Marseille.

I don't want this to come across as an ITK post in any way but I will state that if we end up with Malky MacKay I will lose 100% faith in the board's ability to do the job and judgment to make the right decisions for the football club. This is based on first hand knowledge I have of McKay. I unfortunately can't go into specific details but put it this way, he is not what the Cardiff fans would lead you to believe and if the board appoint him it just proves they haven't done the due diligence necessary.

It does seem like keeping things as they are are best for all concerned.

Premier League Broadcast and Merit Payments for 2013/14
saint_ed replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Sorry I know, I should have used a The point still stands though. Ultimately it seems we are facing up to one of two options.... A) Everything we are reading in the media complete rubbish B) KL has been advised that the value of the club has hit a ceiling and won't significantly increase from this point forward without Champions League. It therefore would make no sense to spend anything over our existing revenue as the investment needed would ensure no significant ROI upon a future sale. I know which one I'm leaning towards. -
Premier League Broadcast and Merit Payments for 2013/14
saint_ed replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
That should be reality, but we all know we are never going to invest that sort of money unfortunately otherwise we wouldn't have the uncertainty around us that we currently have. Knowing the figures it arguably makes it even more frustrating! -
Sounds like he couldn't wait to get away from you! Nice try though
-
Don't forget we were told upon Ralph joining what good friends he is with Ottmar Hitzfeld
-
Very unprofessional of him to name names in that context.
