Sort of pleased I missed this one. Positives seem to be that we looked lively and played well until the equaliser, and but for Hojbjerg's brain fart we should have won. Negatives are we have a disorganized defence, especially weak at RB, and have no confidence. Think there are some issues with unsettled/insecure players. Seems we're still desperate to reduce the wage bill, thanks to Carrillo, Boufal and Forster. This means we may listen to offers from abroad for players I'd like to keep, mainly Gabbiadini and Yoshida. After next week, hopefully things will settle down. I want to see Yoshida in the team with Vestergaard and Gabbiadini with Ings or Long, who I still think contributes to urgency and pace. Keep the faith. I suspect you're right. The more balanced posts describe us being good in attack. We missed at least two good chances. We had a seriously weakened central defence and conceded two goals. Match threads on here have become a joke, with trolls, skates and all sorts just waiting to churn out the doomsday b0ll0cks as fast as they can. Probably not even following the game. Looking at that realistically, we lost, which We usually do at Everton and it could have been worse. But for various reasons we were without four likely starters, including two CBs. That wasn't the manager's fault by I was sure by his choices to replace those four. Would have liked to see Bednarek but probably in a three, which we inexplicably dropped today. I can only assume the plan all week was to switch to a back four including Vestergaard and when he was I'll it was a choice of abandoning the change or hoping two of Stephens, Hoedt and Bednarek could do the job, and they couldn't. I didn't disagree with JWP for Armstrong but wish we'd gone 4231 rather than the two strikers, especially when one was the static Austin. If we're going 442 please can we see Gabbiadini with Ings?
