It's because they seem determined not use in in the (proven) way of any other sport. But at the moment, it's a mess. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

And far too many just spout what will be popular, or is expected. Some of the media today have been brave enough to say that Ronaldo's performance, apart from a stunning free kick, was average. One of his goals was a goalkeeping error and the other two came from a penalty and free kick won by simulation - blatent cheating. And that is deserving of the pundits' hero worship? Not sure he didn't dive for the free kick though. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

So what exactly is the point of this thread? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Without question the Poch season. I hope I never suffer another season like the last one. The Cup semi-final was just a bit of compensation for everything else. What I want to see is us being competitive every game, being able to close out messy 1-0 wins, giving the big boys tough games and sitting comfortably in mid-table, or better, challenging for Europe. That's our ambition. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Probably rubbish, but..... https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/48147/ Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I probably agree. The biggest difference is the spirit and commitment of the team. Plus more positivity and urgency. All that affects the fans and the noise levels and atmosphere lift. The support during the last 15 minutes at Swansea was awesome, right up there with the best I can remember in 50 years, totally deserved because of the utter determination and commitment of the team. Something that's been missing. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

But this is just a symptom of what's happening to the modern game. It's a team game, but for any number of "stars" of the game it's far more important to get headlines for themselves, boost their own egos and earning power. For example, The Golden Boot used to be a peripheral award. Now some regard it as more important than team success. And Ronaldo's sulking last night. He was actually angry because he didn't score, he didn't make the headlines. The fact that his team won was unimportant. And players moving to "win trophies" never say they want to help a club win trophies. It's all about collecting medals for themselves. So we get the situation we had last night. Liverpool players had no sympathy for Karius as he'd stopped them individually winning medals. Once upon a time, we had the great teams who played for each other and the club to see the club win trophies. Not any more. Move to where you'll get most money and you think there are like-minded players who'll help you win individual glory. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Now to get behind my local team. Shrewsbury were favourites for relegation at the start of the season and to reach the Championship would be a huge achievement. Come on you Shrews! (Can't really bring myself to say that. A team of small furry rodents just seems wrong. [emoji20]) Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Real's first goal clearly was legal but I wonder if it would have been allowed at the other end? Think the Spaniards would have had a meltdown. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I think "Gareth Bale, he's one of our own" will do nicely. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Thought it was absolutely appalling that no Liverpool players showed any sympathy towards Karius. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Matt's having a good game. Doubt he'll want to come back if he's second choice. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Agreed. Especially Terry. If Villa win this it'll be an absolute travesty. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Happy that Fulham are winning. By far the more positive side. And amusing that Terry is having a mare. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
