  1. Originally posted on the highly amusing goalkeeper flowchart thread, but hopefully relevant I still think Gazza is the least bad option at the moment but I have concerns. The defence seem to play better in fromt of him, but I suspect that is because there isn't a lot of confidence in him. It sems to me that we are more likely to hoof clear rather than a backpass with Gazzaniga in goal than we were with KD. Although his reactions are good, he has let in at least two goals (including last night) by not getting down and getting his body behind the ball, but instead parrying with too weak a touch which isn't enough to turn the shot away. Also, I've always assumed it is the keeper's responsibility at a free kick to decide on the size of the wall and line it up. Why did we only have three in the wall for Norwich's goal, and wht were they protecting an area just outside the goal? The invitation to shoot was obvious. And signing Boruc looks more and more like an ill-advised panic move. I wouldn't be surprised to see KD getting another chance before long.
  2. If Shaw is fit. Sterling against Fox ......

  4. Disappointing not to win but it could easily have gone t!ts up after the soft goal right on half time. Was very important not to lose and that's 4 unbeaten. Who set the wall for the free kick? It was as much to blame as Gazza was. Anyone else think we got nothing from the ref again tonight?
  5. Stream is cr@p now.
  6. Punch close
  7. I'd take a point right now.
  8. Anyone found a feed? Can't get there tonight.
  9. Villa score. Not a disaster.
  10. I recommended the Ship & Mitre on the Away Fans thread and got ridiculed by someone with a total lack of appreciation of a decent pub and excellent pint. But I'll be going there. Definitely the best real ale choice.
  11. Agree with all the reasons plus NC keeping faith in NA, NA keeping faith with himself and his formation and his team and NA for maintaining team morale.
  12. Agree completely. Total of 8 hours on the train yesterday (and expensive via London) plus 90 mins driving. And no day to recover.
  13. It's also the time he takes to get his gloves off, then carefully put them back on again afterwards. I was also impressed with our ballboy who managed to (accidently) kick the ball away just as their keeper was collecting it for a quick goal kick. Think he actually nutmegged the keeper. Very good.
  14. Gazza is best, then Kelvin. Therefore no Boruc. No idea why we got him. Presumably on past glories, but on what I've seen, no use to us now.
  15. I'd agree the food is expensive and not great, but find your other comments strange as I was introduced to the place by my daughter and her uni friends, none of whom are middle aged and quite a few are relatively young and female. But I go there for the real ale, which is as good as anywhere in Liverpool. You clearly have different tastes and fortunately will probably be drinking elsewhere.
  16. Ship & Mitre in the centre is the best for real ale and away fan friendly. £8 taxi ride to Anfield, or Merseyrail and a walk.

    Di Matteo

I'm so glad someone has started a new thread on this. Very surprised there was no discussion at all yesterday about Di Matteo...... Oh.
  18. I'd be sorry to lose him as I still consider him to be at least our second-best keeper. And if Gazza is to develop, KD's input will be important.

    And maybe not .......

    Di Matteo

    With our players?

    Di Matteo

Why? What evidence is there that RDM could do any better than NA with the players available?

And why would a member of the Chelsea board know who Saints would be appointing? Another shock horror story as Turkish leaps on another opportunity to revive his NA out agenda.
  23. Shroppie

    Di Matteo

Yes I do believe that. He is developing with the team, is one of the best, if not the best sports psychologists around. And who knows how many Champions League and FA Cups he may win.

    Nigel is better.
  25. Really? There were at least two saves that I don't think Boruc would have got anywhwere near.
