Great little cars, capable of embarrassing some very expensive machinery on handling alone. Add to that 120+bhp in a car that weighs less than a fart in a crisp packet and they're utterly brilliant for the money. It's only a shame that their image was destroyed by the Max Power boys.

On another thread somewhere I state my desire to sit down with a book and read all about the possible underhanded goings on at SMS, and the Dell before that, and I stand by that. I just believe that the time for that is after we've been reassured that there is a future for the club. I've no problem with other people viewing things differently, but having digs at me for not sharing the commonly held bitterness does make me somewhat defensive about my standpoint.

The idea that not learning from the past will cause the same to happen in the future is irrelevant to all of us on here at this time. We cannot influence the decisions of the administrators by b*tching about Crouch, Lowe and Wilde on this forum. It does nothing to heal the division between supporters and it does nothing towards improving relations on this forum. It's a past that needs revisiting in the future, not before the future is even safe from extinction.

Shouldn't go wrong prematurely perhaps, but they do have a "life-span". That's some pretty high voltage pounding through the coil - 20,000 volts - so it can't last forever. Go for the one with the most "quibble free" warranty.

I had to replace the coil pack on my old VTS, because of the same symptoms, but I'd already ruled out plugs and leads by then. You'll probably end up doing the same. I don't remember a huge price difference between the OEM part and a pattern one from a 3rd party though. A few quid maybe but not enough to make it worth the risk.
