    Russia

Yet Ukraine is desperate to join NATO, and NATO is saying no, not anytime soon. Great carrot.
  2. I disagree, I think promoting equality and diversity in football can only be a good thing, and wearing an armband for one game is a small, completely harmless gesture.
  3. If that team tries to pat it about at the back like City it’s going to be embarrassing.
  4. I don't think that's the case. IMO it's just a phase we're going through. Society is always progressing, there are people here now who were around when being gay was illegal, I remember homophobic attitudes being the norm when I was growing up. Once the culture of football catches up this sort of signalling thing will just die out.
  5. Obviously. Sam Morsy chooses not to wear the armband but he its not down to his own individual choice.
  6. Who's choice was it then if it wasn't his?
  7. Has Sam Morsy been warned about his behaviour then?
  8. True. Momentum/money - pretty much the same thing. Typical of our luck that we get an owner like Marcus and he dies.
  9. No doubt he did a good job but it was a different situation, different owner. You would obviously have him over the current lot but getting from League One to the Prem was much more about Liebherr's cash than anything else. When they brought the club they said it was 'the bargain of the century' - they got a Prem set up on the cheap meaning he had a blank canvass and Liebherr's money to invest. Cortese got the big decisions right and it sounds like he may have been one of the reasons Marcus chose us so for that he should be commended. But he clearly was a bit of a twat which is why he's not overly popular.
  10. Same as the poppy then.
  11. They are all grown men, I’m sure they are not going to be crying over a bit of criticism. The Irish fella who refused to wear the poppy got more stick.
  12. I don’t think anyone is being forced to wear them, Sam Morsy isn’t.

    Elon Musk

I don’t go on twitter but wasn’t Trump banned for spreading misinformation and inciting violence? It’s important to have free speech but there should always be limits. I’m sure there are plenty of other right wingers who have used the same social media platforms for years without getting banned.

    Russia

What, by not letting them join?

    Elon Musk

Musk could send over a billion and it wouldn't stop Farage being a cunt. It all helps Starmer anyway, getting more right wing wack-jobs voting Reform rather than Conservative.

    Russia

I expect there are plenty of Sunni backers. I guess they are probably exploiting the position Hezbollah are in and the lack of support from Russia for Assad. The whole region is a fucking mess.
  17. This. The team are shit but the kit is worse. Our club is run by cunts, whoever designed that needs dragging out into the street and shooting.
  18. Players look like they have given up now. At least before they have played Martin’s shit football with a bit of enthusiasm, now they have just gone.
  19. This. There are obviously risks but it has to be a good thing to end the suffering of so many people. There is a reason why doctors did what they did before the whole Shipman thing. It's refreshing to see Parliament put all the party bullshit aside and actually make sensible decisions like adults for a change. Hope fully a lot of care and thought is put into the final law so that works well.
  20. At least post the whole article: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/nov/28/assisted-dying-bill-will-not-be-adopted-as-government-bill-if-it-passes-vote You could just have easily have quoted: “the bill has a longer period of scrutiny in bill committee than most other government bills. MPs could vote twice more on the bill, including on any new amendments and again at third reading, after which it will go to the House of Lords.”
  21. Exactly. I remember when my dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer - you treasure every single moment you have left. You would have to be some sort of sicko to even suggest ending it early to a loved one in that situation. His last few weeks were awful and I'm sure he would have wanted the option of a pain free death had he been given the choice, I know I certainly would.
  22. There may end up with some cases like this but I think they would be very rare. The law only applies to people who will be dead soon anyway so I don't see what anyone would have to gain by risking prison trying to make someone go early even if they were that screwed up. The benefits of reducing suffering more than out-weigh any risks IMO.
