I think with all those years with dodgy owners they have confused investment with money laundering. As rallyboy says, any chance they had of attracting an investor went out the window when they sold their future for a few feet of Tarmac. If they were located anywhere else in England they may have a chance but there is no room for a stadium anywhere else on the Sceptic Isle and they have landlocked themselves.

I'm in favour of helping people in need of help yes.

People with more money than they need, giving it to those in need - very much in the spirit of socialism. If more people were like him instead of being utter c@nts like you we wouldn't have to pay as much tax as we do.
-
I actually agree with the new dividend tax. Most of my mates are small business owners and the amount of ways they get out of paying tax is unbelievable.

Surely it's only fair you show a capitalist version, where there are loads more beggars and the fat bloke tells them to f*ck off and die.
-
The only way to make any difference is to be in power - that's the bottom line. A lurch further to the left would be a complete disaster regardless of who is leader. Without middle England you cannot win an election.

Who's country is this? You were just born here! You're just lucky!

I don't think its ageist to say that in general older people tend to be more racist, sexist and homophobic. -

That's ******, old people are way more racist. You can add homophobic and sexist to that as well. It doesn't make them worse, it's just culture is forever changing and in today's world people are way less ignorant. -

What a nob head, just another idiot who doesn't understand that being against mass immigration has nothing to do with racism. -
Those people are probably as English as you or me.

Why do the plod allow this, surely holding up banners inciting murder is illegal.

I have a salaried job and my own business, I know exactly what paying a tax return is like. The principle is the same, the better work I do the better off I am - the rate of tax is irrelevant.
-
A bit less attractive sure but I doubt anyone on that sort of salary goes to work thinking "I'm not going to try hard today because I have to pay some tax". Is that seriously how you think? Every job I do I do the best possible because I know it will make me and my company better off - it's as simple as that.
-
I agree, the government should do everything possible to crack down on benefit cheats and tax avoiders but that is a separate issue. I still don't get how paying a bit more tax stops people wanting to better themselves. You still earn more the better you do wether the tax rate is 20, 30 or 40 percent. If you are that motivated by money you will want work more regardless of what percentage is taken out at the end of the month.
-
I agree. But I don't think paying a little bit more tax would have any effect on individual endeavour. If you are that greedy you will want to earn as much as possible regardless of what percentage is taken out. I was always taught it is good to share, I pity those who worry about how much tax they pay.
-
Exactly, which is why you need a government to help redistribute wealth and help those in need.
-
Whatever system you have in place some people will abuse it, wether it is big multinationals avoiding tax or dole scroungers avoiding work - it's not really that relevant.
-
No, I just think after the next financial crash there will probably be a return to a more socialist style government. The current system is not sustainable.
-
Don't know or care, it's not a such black or white issue. There are parts of today's society that are socialist concepts - like the NHS and welfare state which even the conservatives want in place. You can want a fairer more compassionate society with wanting a communist style government.
-
I do agree with you though, socialism would work if there wasn't so many c@nts around. I think it does go in cycles though, today's capitalism will end up failing eventually, it's just a matter of time. The monetary system is ****ed and I expect after the next crash we will see some sort of return to socialism. Capitalism works but it needs some sort of control, you can't get that with globalisation.

Bit of a dilemma over this European tour. Due to family and work commitments I will probably only be able to do 1 or possibly 2 decent sized away trips max. Do I shoot my bolt early and go to the qualifier against some far-flung nobody and risk missing a trip to an Ajax or Dortmund in the group stages. Or wait but risk Saints losing in the early stages and miss out altogether?
