  1. how about the guy we are trying to buy at the moment?
  2. Whatever the set up is it has worked so far which is good. I think the money in the summer could probably have been more wisely spent though. Also when you are being bankrolled by a billionaire through the lower leagues there is more scope for errors.
  3. No one know's who is behind which signings, I thought that was obvious. You clearly don't understand my point. But that is not surprising.
  4. I'm not concerned, just speculation on what the opening poster said. Blimey, some of you lot are a bit too touchy about the Don. Mention 'transfer committee' and you are wetting the bed all over the place. Look at smirkin's post above. lol.
  5. Ronaldo going wasn't even Man Utd's decision, it was Ronaldo's. And I doubt any of the Asian players would have been signed against SAF's wishes. Adkin's obviously is not in the same league as Fergie but the principle is the same. You employ a manager to manage, that is his talent, that's why he is there. If you don't trust his judgement on players why hire him?
  6. I didn't say there was anything wrong with our set up. Just that in my opinion the manager should always be the one that decides on which players to sign. I doubt any player would be signed if Adkins didn't want them. If a chairman is bringing in players against his wishes I think then there is a problem. I think you are the one with an agenda.
  7. So you think someone else is choosing Man U's players for Sir Alex. You pleb.
  8. What's my agenda? Every person on here is speculating.
  9. I don't for one minute think Fergie is being told who he can and cannot sign.
  10. Don't know, none of us do.
  11. But they wont get anyone they don't want either. The chairman obviously has final say because he signs the cheques but there is no point having a manager if they don't choose the players.
  12. Who tells Sir Alex and Wenger who to sign then?
  13. The chairman obviously has the final say but the player should always be the choice of the manager IMO.
  14. Photoshop is easy. You can do some really complicated stuff with it but it's still simple to use for the basic retouching etc.
  15. That's b*ll*x. They don't look like going down but to say it's as likely as Man U is retarded. A few key injuries and run of bad form and they could easily be dragged in. Man Utd could have their whole first 11 taken out into the car park and shot, lose every single game from now until May, be deducted 10 points and still stay up comfortably.
  16. It looked like he played well yesterday, hopefully he will prove to be a good buy but it is too early to say. If he leaves in the summer because a few fans gave him some stick in one game he would be a bit of a c*ck.
  17. I would usually take a point but looking at the run of fixtures after this I think we have to win.
  18. I would stick with Adkins, if we go down he's the best man to get us up again. Getting relegated doesn't make Adkins a bad manager, just means we got promoted too early and the squad just wasn't good enough.
  19. There probably wouldn't be a loss, as long as they are doing it right. Club's with smaller attendances sell much bigger programmes than that for £3.
  20. I think you are missing the point. Virtually everyone has access to the internet but many older people like my parents won't go looking for news on the OS, they will just pick up the Echo and read whatever is on the back page. Thanks to Cortese they will be more likely to read (and believe) negative sh!te, like how the club is in debt or how club legends have been snubbed. It's impossible to gauge what effect negative publicity has on the club 9probably not alot) but attendances have not been great and any bad PR is completely pointless.
  21. The club and Echo's relationship has always been mutually beneficial, the paper sells more and the club get free publicity to it's target audience, and the fans get to read interesting stuff about their club. Cortese's girly tantrum is doing no one any good. I don't read the Echo but I know alot of older people for whom that is their only source of info on the club. If the Echo folds it's only the Southampton people who will lose out.
  22. Who gives a rats @rse what America thinks?
  23. Great news, much better of here than sat in Arsenal reserves.
  24. Interesting that. "If there is indeed a solar effect on climate, it is manifested by changes in general circulation rather than in a direct temperature signal." This fits in with the conclusion of the IPCC and previous NRC reports that solar variability is NOT the cause of global warming over the last 50 years.
