Guns n Roses at the Marquee. Queen at Wembley. Nirvana at Reading. Oasis at The Joiners.

Vajazzle for me. Expunged is up there though.

So what you are saying is that whilst looking to spend £7mill on Jay Rod, £12mill on Ramirez and £4mill on Mayuka, Cortese was handing out a guaranteed to play contract to the sh!ttest striker in the squad? Guly must have a good agent!
-
That might be the problem if the rumours about the transfer setup are to be believed. You can imagine him trying to sell the job to Benitez. "you will be manager Rafa, but me and this old failed Charlton manager will be choosing which players to buy".
-
At this rate it will be too late by January.
-
I would stick with Gazza, looks quality.
-
Schneidelin's attempt to block their goal was pathetic. Don't try and tell me he's a defensive midfielder. ****ing joke.
-
The whole defence is sh!te except for Clyne.
-
Whoever spent £30mill on that shower or ****e should get sacked.
-
Can't even ****ing dive properly
-
We could have brought two top centre backs and a decent midfielder for what we paid for Ramirez.
-
The thing is with Schneiderlin is he's not a defensive midfielder, he's just a midfielder who can't attack.
-
Yoshida and Fonte are so bad it's scary.

But surely it makes more sense to borrow from the Leibherrs via the BVI, then if we go bust they get every penny plus interest back - guaranteed.
-
Or which of the two would most effectively get their money back out should the gamble not pay off. I'm far from an expect in these things but it makes no sense for the Liebherrs to borrow money off anyone so I expect the BVI company is theirs. So whatever happens to SFC after their little gamble they are guaranteed their cash back plus whatever interest they decided to put on.

You know as well as anyone it's not just a case of the amounts changing, the way is it distributed is completely different. Wimbledon couldn't do today what they did in the 80's, there is no way we could get a 2nd place finish in the top tier like we did in the 80's. Sky's money has distorted the whole game and I just find it so dull. The fact that teams like Everton, Spurs and Newcastle think getting 4th place is some sort of amazing achievement shows what a boring, pointless league it is.

We have player a tough load of fixtures so it might not be a s bad as we think. But, the defence looks woefully short of experience, knowhow and ability. I cannot for the life of me understand why we spent £30mill odd and neglected the centre back position so blatantly. When we retired Jaidi and loaned out Martin I expected them to be replaced with 2 proven Premiership defenders. Instead all we do is take a punt on a Japanese player from the Dutch league. Shocking. Clyne looks quality but is still young, backup for Fox is a 16 year old. the whole situation is a mess.

But 30 years ago we could win the league without rich owners, 20 years ago with our current owners we could have won the league. Today we don't have a chance even with rich owners - that is why money has ruined football. It is no longer a competition other than for 5 or 6 clubs. The Prem might be flashier with fancy foreign players and sterile shiny stadiums but the football is no better, English clubs were the best in Europe long before the money turned up. We will probably never see players as good as Keegan, Channon and Le Tiss playing for Saints for more than 1 or 2 seasons again.
-
We bought success the last two seasons, didn't feel too bad. It's buying failure which sucks.
-
I think a draw will be the best result. A win for either side would give them a boost.
-
I couldn't give a monkeys. Football on Sunday is bad enough but I couldn't think if a worse day to go out for a few beers with your mates than a Monday night.
-
If you hold your hand over the back 5 that looks a decent side. We've got some great attacking talent there but WBA will just look at that and think they can get 3 or 4 at least.

Songs that remind you of Saints...

Coldplay - Yellow. I will always remember when they played it in the pub we were in before the 2003 cup final and the whole place was a sea of yellow. -
You approach every game in the same way but fact is we are going to pick up more points against the lesser teams. Always have and always will. In the Prem it's as much about who you play as how you play.
