  1. Dune, the later part of the 20th century when the warming has happened, has actually seen a decline in solar irradiance - the natural variations you bang on about actually add proof to the man made climate warming theory.
  2. What a load of nonsense, Portsmouth will always have a football team regardless of any financial difficulties. If they did somehow mysteriously vanish, it wouldn't make much difference to us.
  3. In a way I agree with you, if what the scientists say is happening is right then global warming will happen regardless of what we do about it, the feedback processes are already in place. What is the point in me recycling a Marmite jar when the government - for all their spin on the environment - plough ahead with building extra runways at Heathrow? And what our government is doing is a **** in the ocean compared to what China and India are doing. All governments care about is appeasing the masses, if they appear to be doing something they will get voted in - that is their only motivation. All this capping/carbon trading/ targets is just a load of nonsense. The world's governments will only get serious once the warming does - and then it will be too late. Luckily for us we shouldn't be too badly effected, our climate is pretty mild - if it gets a bit warmer we will be OK, if weather gets more severe we will be OK too. It's the millions worldwide who rely on their specific climate for their survival that are/will get hit the worst. Forget trying to combat it, just concentrate on adapting.
  4. I'm guessing they have to pay their loan players otherwise they will just go back to their parent clubs. They are a complete joke, the Premier League must be sick to death of their "World's Greatest League" brand being associated with such a shoddy corrupt outfit. I can't see the transfer ban being lifted even if they find some cash.
  5. Would have been nice but would have been a lot of fuss for at the most 3 games, unless we are doing OK in the Prem a 40,000 seater would just be a waste of money. I couldn't give a monkeys if the World Cup comes to England or not, tickets would be so expensive I would probably only watch it all on TV anyway, might as well be in Russia for all I care.
  6. Should just be killed, at the very least he was a collaborator.
  7. The league is obviously the most important, as long as there is a slight chance of reaching he playoffs we should make that our priority. After that, the JPT is way more important than the FA Cup, we actually have a chance to put a shiny thing in our pathetic looking cabinet. If players need resting (and it sometimes does make sense to rest players as ALL the top managers prove) do it in our FA Cup games because we can't win it.
  8. We are not going to win the FA Cup, I would rather go out with a bang in the 3rd round than play more pointless matches picking up injuries and suspensions along the way.
  9. For a lot of people football is about having a laugh with their mates, the blokes kicking a ball around in a field is just part of the fun.
  10. Yeah, still a total goon.
  11. Having a beer with your mates is way more enjoyable than watching some of the **** we've been dished up at St Marys in recent seasons.
  12. Arsenal away - would be great to see the stadium.
  13. To be fair the Keegan kit is red and white stripes, just two really thick ones.
  14. Guided Missile posts a wind up and Nineteen Canteen is the only one who agrees it's a good idea.
  15. Blair - he killed more people.
  16. Can only work if both clubs are in the same city, a shared "Solent" stadium built in Park Gate would be equally as unpopular with skates as it would Saints fans, it would only have to have a 10,000 capacity.
  17. Population means **** all if there is little interest in football, they have the same population now yet still get half of what we get despite being a league higher. Saints would struggle to fill a 40K stadium, it would fill for probably the big 4 plus maybe Spurs. Bristol or Plymouth - no way. Big cities - footballing minnows
  18. Closer, yet still with half the crowds. They would all look daft in a 40K stadium even in the Prem, Plymouth get 10K FFS.
  19. Looks like we've missed the boat, it would have been nice but at the end of the day it's just a couple of games of footie. I'm trying to work out what Bristol or Plymouth are going to use a 40K stadium for after the 1 or 2 World cup games have been played. The average attendance of Plymouth, Bristol City and Rovers combined doesn't even come close to filling a 40K stadium.
  20. Typical of Southampton Council to **** things up. You would have thought they could have expressed an interest dependent on the outcome of the club's administration.
  21. All the people running the enquiry have been hand picked by the government so it will just be a complete whitewash. Blair deserves to be tried for war crimes for the way he spun us into an illegal war, the years of sanctions meant Iraq had next to no military capability at all, they were a million miles away from having WMDs and were no threat to us at all. I would be happy to see Blair suffer the same fate as Saddam for what he did.
  22. I wouldn't put money on it, check the next month's fixtures... Man Utd H Burnley H Sunderland A Chelsea A Liverpool H West Ham A Arsenal H
  23. Surely the details of his loan contract are just between Saints and Preston? Under FA rules he was eligible to play on saturday before his ban.
  24. Who else was on 4 yellows?
  25. That's a surprise!
