  1. I don't think a stadium's aesthetic really comes into the equation when it comes to value but anyway, its the sort of run of the mill flat pack IKEA style ground that you lot have been desperate to build for the last decade. Plus that with the state of the art training ground, top academy, and decent fan base we have 4 attributes portsmouth don't currently have.
  2. Do you really think it is financially viable to redevelop portsmouth?!? Even if they take on your debt (how many millions god only knows), rebuild your team to one with a decent chance of staying up (£30mill?) and build a new ground (£50mill?), only then you have a club with an income comparible to Stoke - How are you going to make a profit? Sell more pies? I'm sorry but the hard facts are Gaydamak wants his money back, the banks want their money back. Either you go into admin, sell all you players and go down then into admin, or find a billionare happy to chuck millions down a black hole. there is no other way out unless Hart is a genius.
  3. Ideally, get rid of both. But if they are still around after the transfer window you would hope they will knuckle down.
  4. It was nothing to do with protecting existing supplies, it's all about control of supply, releasing the Iraqi oil means there is less dependance on the Saudi supply. Agree that Saddam in control means a disaster for the West - that doesn't make it any more right to go to war over.
  5. That article is just complete ******, the Libyan's appeal would uncover absolutely nothing because he's going to pop his clogs in a couple of months. That undeniable fact blow's their whole theory out the water. The mass murderer was released to help BP get oil contracts (Oh there just happens to be a royal visit planned soon as well), the whole thing stinks.
  6. Do you really think blowing £150m on Pompey makes sound business sense when they could own Newcastle for 80m?
  7. Should have let the bastard rot, I don't think compassion should be shown to mass murderers. What really stinks is that it was all about oil anyway, the government just want to keep Libya sweet, they don't give a monkeys about the feeling of the victims, it's all about the ££s.
  8. The American system is ****ed up, the NHS may not be perfect but there is something seriously wrong with a society sitting around watching people die because they can't afford health insurance. I'm surprised the Yanks put up with it, being so religious and all.
  9. Lynam's the one to blame, you can guarantee he gave Le Tiss the same bull**** he gave us. He needs a good kickin
  10. The play-offs are a pipe dream, we don't have a chance. Pardew needs to sort this squad out just to keep us up.
  11. It's gonna be a long hard season, talk of play-offs is laughable.
  12. I think being recognised as one of the best players the Prem has ever seen can safely be described as being pretty close to a pinnacle of sporting achievement. How many hundred Prem goals would he have had to have scored to qualify for your reading list?
  13. the entire time Saints were in the Premier League we had to survive by working on a budget and flogging our best players, most of the time with an unpopular asshole in charge. Yet 5mins of the same and the skates are turning their back in droves - a bunch of plastic fairweathers. I can't wait til Marcus has us in the prem with a team littered with England internationals - it will be build a second tier on SMS time.
  14. I really think the problem is the central midfield positions, Gillett, Wotton and Scheiderlin are just not up to the job. Gillett could do a job with the right partner but he's still limited. He's not the best passer and he's no attacking threat. Scheiderlin has good technique, is a good passer but is not really a threat going forward either, he can't defend or tackle and he's lazy. Wotton is just limited full stop. We need a couple of good all rounders in the middle who can defend and attack and get from box to box. Or sign a decent attacking midfielder, someone who Wotton or Gillet can just sit behind.
  15. I would get a whole new centre midfield, I don't rate Wotton, Schneiderlin or Gillett.
  16. Not really, we are probably not going up this season anyway, at best we have a chance of the play-offs which is a 1 in 4 chance. Rushing it and getting it wrong is the worst thing we could do.
  17. But what if they appoint a Bobby Robson type, and that person thinks Pardew is rubbish? The DOF role can obviously work but it's vital the DOF appoints the manager, IMO.
  18. As long as Pardew is happy with the set up there shouldn't be a problem. It's a bit of an arse about tit way of doing things, surely the logical thing to do would be appoint the director then let him choose the manager. At least then the manager knows the DOF is on the same page.
  19. Even the better ones on that list were at the arsehole of their career. We might as well include Peter Reid, Bruse Grobelaar, Mark Hughes and Andrei Kenchelskis.
  20. I think it's perfectly valid to ask how much was made and where all the money went, while we shouldn't be overly critical of people who are just doing there best to help, they shouldn't expect everything to be kept secret as at the end of the day it was our money involved. Also if it did make a loss it would be wise to work out why in case a similar situation happens again. I might be wrong but the whole Saints Aid music thing did appear a bit self indulgent to me. It almost looked like someone was looking for a reason to set up a gig, rather than looking at ways to raise dough.
  21. I can't believe Storrie takes home £2,033,751! He's playing the Skates for a bunch of mugs, no wonder this take-over has been dragged out, he's just sat there earning a fortune dishing out fan friendly bull**** while the club gets asset stripped. I almost feel sorry for the fish fiddlers.
  22. In theory Gaydamak could pocket the sky TV cash, sell every single player and do a runner. Was this Arab thing a smoke screen from day 1? I wonder how many skates bought season tickets when this Arab billionare story broke?
  23. Whilst scientists can often be wrong I think it would be foolish to ignore the opinions of the vast majority. Climate has changed throughout history but that doesn't mean that what is happening now is not caused by us. There is absolutely nothing we can do about it now anyway, if the scientists are right we are past the tipping point and the positive feedbacks will accelerate the warming anyway. The whole world could stop ALL CO2 production tomorrow - wont make alot of difference. Best just carry on as we are and adapt to the effects, the UK may even benefit from the changes.
  24. The facts speak for themselves, they all point to nothing other than a complete balls up by Lowe. The issue is not about admin but the timing of it, it is the timing which has screwed up this season. All the facts point to one of 3 things: Either Lowe had a massive communication failure with Barclays. or Lowe tried to call Barclays bluff and failed miserabley. or Lowe purposely waited untill after the dealine to spite us, Crouch n co. Either way Lowe is to blame for the -10 this season. Many other clubs have managed to time administration to suit them, sometimes down to the hour. they all had banks with overdrafts, creditors etc, there is no excuse for Lowe's mis-management.
