  1. By far the main problem is pace up front, with Lambert and Paterson/Saganowski the opposition can just play a high line, there is no one to get in behind and Lallana can just be shut out the game. I'm hoping Papa can transform the side, I would definitely look to get in another fast striker as back up as well.
  2. It is good to know that we have people who know about football running the club now, hopefully it wont take too long to put right the damage inflicted by Lowe.
  3. Unless this guy has come in instead of a DOF, leaving Pardew less hands on?
  4. I havn't read one post which is asking for Pardew to be sacked now you melodramatic tit.
  5. There's nothing we can do, we can cheer and shout while the team are playing - that's it. As for JP's fair crack of the whip - that's what sent us down. there was nothing wrong with criticising Poortvleit then just like there is nothing wrong with questioning Pardew now. Burying your head in the sand doesn't help anyone. Pardew's appointment is similar to Burley's in that he has come here with a big reputation, there is always a risk he will go the same way as Burley. A busted flush with no motivation having had his time in the sun. Burley was under no pressure at all, as soon as Crouch came in and said his job was safe it gave him license to spend the rest of the season propping up the bar at the De Vere. If Pardew is here for the pay cheque and not to work his ass off, he might as well leave now. I'm not saying that's the case but there is a chance it could be.
  6. I don't think the booing would have done any harm at all, if anything it might help give the players the kick up the ass they need.
  7. No one is calling for Pardew's head but I am not surprised by the over sensitive reaction from the usual happy clappy mongs to a bit of criticism. I distinctly remember Legod saying "give Poortvliet and the kids a chance they will come good" - that ended up getting us relegated. Facts are we will probably need at least 56 points from our next 40 games to avoid relegation, if we don't start winning in 4 or 5 games we will need play-off form to avoid being in division 4 next year. Given that we are currently the worst side bar one in the league, I find that very worrying. And if any of you plumbs still think we have even a slight chance of promotion, forget it, we dont. The side finishing in 6th last year had 76 points. Which means we will probably need at least 82 points from our next 40 games to get in the play-offs - that would mean showing the same form as Leicester did last year.
  8. Agree, we badly need pace up front, Paterson, Saganowski and Lambert don't have real pace so teams can just defend with a high line. Hopefully Papa can give us that.
  9. Yes, he said the same patronising crap then.
  10. Didin't Arsne Wenger win the league in his first season, after they sacked the previous manager? Stablity doesn't equal success, finding the righ manager equals success which in turn brings stablilty. Pardew needs to be given time but so far he has been poor - you cannot argue that.
  11. I don't think anyone thinks he should be sacked now, it makes sense to give him time to build his team and show what he is about. However even the happiest clappiest mong on here has to admit he has started poorly, if it carries on too long then the club have to consider sacking him.
  12. Try learning to read ****-head, I never said we should sack him.
  13. I have no doubt the squad is better becuase Pardew has spent millions, I thought as a team we were better against Millwall on day 1 though.
  14. He looked good when he came on but that's no surprise because he was brought on as an extra midfielder against 10 men who showed little desire to attack. Perfect stage to showcase his nice touches and Hollywood passes without having to do things that proper midfielders do like tackle and track back.
  15. I swear you said we had a chance of promotion at the start of the season - what's changed?
  16. It's all just excuses, at the start of the season most people on here expected us to be challenging for the play-offs.
  17. But do we want to be stuck with another Burley - good record but someone who's had his day and just cannot be bothered. It's too early to sack him but if I was Cortese I would be worried.
  18. How long do they give Pardew? you cannot ignore the fact that he ****ed Charlton up big time.
  19. Bournemeouth are not doing too badley, they've been in admin and havn't been able to spend a penny. Why can Eddie Howe produce a winning team yet Pardew can spend millions but cannot?
  20. I think this is the sort of attitude which sums up Saints at the moment, we are 11 points adrift of safety, only Tranmere have worse form than us, yet this idiot says "otherwise we will be in a relegation battle again". It's time to wake up - WE ARE IN A RELEGATION BATTLE. The team today was awful, couldn't even beat a 10 man Colchester.
  21. Not good enough, Pardew needs to start earning his crust if he wants to keep his job IMO.
  22. Scotland was the perfect job for Burley, any other job and they would have realised he was ****e 6 months ago.
  23. Camara is class, apart from Quashie he was the only one who showed any bottle at fratton park on that day.
  24. Yeah that makes sense, they can shoot lasers thousands of miles to hit a tiny mirror and measure the rebound - but they cant come up with a decent photograph of shed loads of space junk and a f**k-off great big flag.
  25. melodramatic adjective showing much stronger emotions than are necessary or usual for a situation.
