The 'Save Our Saints" thing was pointless, like the Saints Aid thing, all it would have done is lined the pockets of the administrators whilst delaying any takeover.
-
It wont be ignored though, far right groups would turn up and turn it into a riot. It would also be the best recruiting campaign the BNP ever had, because the vast majority of British people will see it as our soft as ****e government bending over backwards for the Muslims again.
-
This thing should not go ahead because it is designed to provoke - plain and simple. Just like if a far right group decide to march on a mosque. Muslims banging on about freedom of speech is the most hypcritical thing I have ever heard, some artist draws a cartoon and even moderate ones are crying like a bunch of babies.
-
It's not fair on the people of Wootton Bassett who have just turned out to show their respects to people who have died serving their country, wether they are Christian, Muslim or Jewish, black, white or brown. It shouldn't be allowed to turn into some political issue.
-
I think if we had the current squad from the off, with a pre-season behind them they would be up there with Norwich and Charlton.

When I was a kid I played for a Tyro League side and we were drawn against a side from Portsmouth in the Hampshire Cup. I remember our manager saying "this lot will really hate you" and explaining why, but I never understood. I think I was about 12 and though I supported Saints also had a Pompey kit. During the game we had grown men shouting all sorts of abuse at us, I still didn't understand it, I remember just feeling sorry for the opposition players because they had nasty parents who were putting them under pressure. All we wanted to do was play footie and being quite good, gave them a right stuffing. My mate teaches in a rough area of portsmouth, he says the kids there are obsessed with hating "scummers", thinks it's bred into them.

I went for destroyed but it's a bit of a nonsense really because all this "cease to exist" stuff is just complete nonsense, just like it was when we were in admin. No club of their size will EVER cease to exist, there will always be a football club in Portsmouth wether they have their name changed to AFC Portsmouth or not is meaningless. Very worst case scenario for the Skates is they go into admin get docked points, maybe go down a league or two. Have their debts wiped out and be bought by someone else - same as every other decent sized team that has ever gone into admin. That's why I wish them the worst possible - because it is not that bad.
-
What a load of nonsense, their fans craved success, lapped it up and gloated, they didn't care for one moment about prudence, good business principles and accumen. They knew all along the team was being funded by gun runner's blood money, they knew it was an unsustainable business model. They obviously couldn't do anything about it, and you can't blame them for lapping up their success but to turn round now and cry like a bunch of babies and protest is just pathetic. You see the retards being interviewed on TV, the mongs seem to think they have a devine right to have some dumb billionaire pour money into their crap hole just so they can lord it over others. Their club is going down the crapper and they will just have to accept the fact that they were willing parties in everything that has caused it.

Happy New year to you too x x x p.s. Get a sense of humour you boring old c**t.

Lens call for potless Pompey to be shut down
aintforever replied to hottubsaint's topic in General Sports
It's a bit pointless having a FAPP test if all you have to do is change the person's job title from Director to Advisor to get around it. Once again portsmouth make a mockery of the FA's rules. -
It's about time the Premier League threw the book at these scum. How can it be fair on clubs like Bolton and Hull who are trying to work within a budget and cant afford the England goalkeeper or to pay 80K a week in wages to some African. They are cheating plain and simple.

Bexy there is no point being so melodramatic about this The very worst case scenario for Portsmouth is they end up where Luton Town are ground sharing with Havant & Waterlooville. Portsmouth will always have a football club and they will always be our rival. Like it or not financial trouble is an integral part of football nowadays, you cannot say you just wish them relegation, because that means administration anyway - the two are the same thing.
-
I find it the opposite, virtually every Saints fan I know wants them to go pop. Definitely all the ST holders I know.
-
My guess is that the Arabs and Gaydamak are all in it together, Gaydamak tried to sell it but knew no one would be interested so is just using these guys as a front so he can asset strip what he can. I can't think of another reason why two potless Arabs would end up in this situation.
-
If all those countries are in debt, who do they owe the money to?
-
The scary thing for Pompey is the ground is secured on a loan to Chanrai who is business partners with an Israeli property developer. Also the land around it is still owned by Gaydamak. Could they actually want them to go pop so they can build something decent, like a car park, on Crap Nottarf?
-
You can fly to Amsterdam in an hour and a half.
-
So basically if The Arab doesn't want an administrator running the club and doesn't cough up what's owed there will be no Portsmouth FC as of the 10th Feb. Is that right?
-
How come with us it was one bounced cheque and Rupes is on the blower to Mr Admin whereas pompey seem harder to kill than that bad guy from Terminator 2? I don't remember HMRC or anyone issuing a winding up petition against us.
-
I think you get more if you have previously been in administration, Bournemouth had an additional -2 to their -15 last year. Have the Skates have been in admin before? If so they should hopefully get the same treatment, unless it's just a FL thing.

Cologne's Stadium cost 120million Euros. The Reebock (modeled on Huddersfield's ground) is over 4,000 seats smaller than SMS and cost more - £35mill. I think Bolton's current debt is around £64 million. Like I said, some teams have business plans and maximizing revenue is more important than creating something for architecture enthusiasts to wack one out over. When you are watching AFC Pompey at Havant and Waterlooville's shed you might come to appreciate that.
-
That's the sort of retarded nonsense I would expect from a Skate - the sort of answer that makes me look forward to your crappy little club going out of business. I can't believe you are too thick to understand why SMS and other modern stadia look like what they do. Are you really that simple? Do you think it looks how it does because: a: Football clubs up and down the country like a bland, generic look to their stadia. b: Some football clubs have to work within a strict budget and have no option but to build stadia as cost effective as possible to fit into their sustainable business plan. Try not to strain your inbred skate brain to hard thinking about an answer to that.

When the Mail writes that garbage it just renforces my opinion that the Chinese government are barbaric scum.
-
We all know Heroin is a nasty drug and the people responsible should be severely punished but the people who supply the drug are no more responsible for the deaths than the barman who sells the alcoholic booze or the shop that sells the cancer victim cigarettes (people in poverty use these vicious drugs also). If you shoot all drug smugglers then it's only fair you shoot all the drug dealers, traffickers, suppliers and users as well. If you are shooting people because of the deaths they might cause then drink driving and manslaughter must also be a capital offence. Most would consider selling drugs to not be as bad as raping, child abusing, GBH, ABH or armed robbery so those too must be capital offences. **** it, just shoot all criminals.
