What a load of rubbish, we won the World cup with our best striker (Jimmy Greaves) sat on the bench because he didn't fit into the system. if you are using Fabio Capello as an example, why do you think he picks Heskey in his first eleven? Please don't tell me you think Heskey is our second best striker! He plays him because he compliments Rooney, he fits the system better than Crouch, Owen or Defoe who all **** over Heskey talent wise.

The way I see it their plan is not sustainable, they are just buying time hoping that if they stay in the prem someone will turn up. It's impossible to know what is going on but from bits in the press it is pretty clear Gaydamak still owns the property "assets" and either him or the bank have first dibs on January's Sky money. The latest money that has been loaned is secured against future income so I can only assume that is next year's Sky money, which if they are relegated would probably be all their parachute cash. If they go down they are ****ged, unless a backer turns up with serious cash I can see them going straight through the Championship. If they stay up they will just be fire fighting and delaying the inevitable relegation if they don't get a backer.

To be fair they also thought the Sun and the Moon were Gods and both ancestors of humans. And their food was created by a Corn God. The whole idea is based on the fact that their calendar ends in 2012 so that must mean the World ends then. Pretty dumb idea considering all calendar's end at some point, unless you have an infinite supply of paper.

there's no case to argue but fact is we've played better since Wotton has started, he might not have Lallana's skills or Scheiderlin's passing ability but he is better defensively, he has better positional sense and as you say a better attitude and more experience. it's all about having a good team, that doesn't mean dumping the most skillfull Xi on the pitch but putting the right blend of youth/experience, skill and attitude. As Big Mac said, violinists and road sweepers.
-
To be fair, every game we have won this season has featured Wotton. And since his return to the starting line-up against Gillingham we have won 5 and drawn 1 so he must be doing something right.

1998 was a freak year, caused by an exceptional El Nino event, the recent La Nina effect have cause a relative cooling but the general trend is still towards global warming. This decade is still set to be the hottest on record. 2005 was the 2nd hottest year ever and that was without any El Nino effects so much will be learnt during the next exceptional El Nino. There is always a chance that the Earth equilibrium is more robust than previously thought but the vast majority of scientific bodies still agree that man made global warming is taking place - only an idiot would think they know better.

Good tactic by his agent, by saying he's willing to play for portsmouth he's basically saying he would play anywhere for the right money.

As with all great comedians it's all about the delivery, alot of people on TV don't right their own stuff. Addlington should wind her chin in, shut the **** up and get a sense of humour.

It's about time Football showed some responsibility and ban scumbags like King.

Forget the tin pot FA Cup and go all out for the JPT IMO.

Hates probably a bit strong. This sites cool though: http://flood.firetree.net/ You can drop a virtual nuke on Portsmouth and it shows blast radius, be careful with the Russian Tsar Bomb though cause i live in Bursledon.

I didn't go today but at the last home game the team did look happier when it went to 4-4-2, and it sounded the same today. But it could be the change in itself that causes problems for the opposition. Their defence gets used to dealing with the lone striker and two wide threats, then suddenly they have a busy Connelly to handle as well and because we are chasing the game our wide players are still getting forward. If we play 4-4-2 from the off it might not be as effective. That said I like the look of Connolly so would be tempted to give him a go from the off if fit, we are getting good results though so you have to trust Pardew.

On the plus side, a sea level rise of 7 meters pretty much wipes Portsmouth off the map. http://flood.firetree.net/

If it's all a government ploy to increase taxes, what is the EU's motivation for agreeing to give £90mill in development finance to the worlds poorer countries to help fight climate change? I expect there are some scientists with political agendas, there is also possibly a motivation to eggagerate the problem to get additional funding but I think you will find the vast majority are sandal wearing bearded geeks who's only motivation is to find out what's going on. And as these people draw their conclusions from experiments and information gathered first hand, rather than reading the odd feature on the internet, I would be inclined to believe them.
-
I would rather trust the Scientists thanks, and whilst they don't all say the same thing the vast majority have agreed that man is contributing to climate change, though there is little agreement on how severve or quick it will happen. Of course there is a chance they are wrong but they are the experts so it would be foolish to ignore their views. The scientific community are fully aware of natural variations in temperature when the draw their conclusions, that's why the odd cold winter or freak weather here and there fit right in with their prediction models. i'm not that arsed about it though, the effect here in England wont be that bad, parts of the US could be ****ed tho.
-
I think you actually are spot on there, climate change is going to happen (only a fool would think they know better than the scientific community). If what the scientists say is true then the way politics works means that there is NO chance whatsoever of it being avoided. The governments bleat on about global warming yet the mugs in charge of the UK plan enlargements of airports etc. China are building coal fired power stations at a rate you wouldn't believe (I think it's the equivelent to increasing by the UK's total coal power stations every year). India etc are industrializing at a fast rate, Brazil keeps on butchering the rainforests. Anything we do is just a **** in the ocean, FORGET trying to combat it, ACCEPT there is going to be changes and ADAPT. That is the sensible way to deal with it. The UK will probably be one of the least effected and might actually benefit from global warming. we should be focusing on predicting the changes and working out how to live with a changed climate. Trying to make a difference by recycling a few plastic bags and driving a slightly less polluting car is pointless and futile.

Not another comical can't afford the wages story? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-in-new-crisis-as-club-fails-to-pay-60-staff-their-wages-article205805.html

All very interesting, except you contradict yourself by saying Wahhabism is a brand of Islam then say it is not Islam. Anyway, the name, brand or whatever is not important. Wether it's called Islam, Wahhabism, or Pashtunwali there are elements that are backward and contribute to abuses of human rights in some countries. it's obviously a complex issue and I don't agree with the BNP's policies but I am glad they raise the issue because the other parties seem to tread on egg shells around the whole thing. It's not right that people should suffer because of any religion, and it's certainly not right that we should turn a blind eye or ignore what is obviously wrong.

I agree, I think it's important for a football club to show it's more than just a business. I also think that making legends like Lawrie Mac pay for a ticket does not sit right. Whilst it should not be an open door for any ex-Saint to go on a jolly at the clubs expense, I think the club should always welcome people who have contributed alot. It shows current players and staff that the club values loyalty, it makes the corporate experience much more interesting if ex players are mincing about. Plus I think it has to help the club to keep up a good reputation and keep links within the game (didn't Pardew call lawrie Mac for advise before taking the job?).

In your opinion, not that of the Saudi's, wether you agree with it or not that is their interpretation. If our government had a similar interpretation of the Bible that destroyed all our human rights I would be saying the same thing about that religion. Just as I would be saying it if Christians were flying Jumbo Jets into buildings and commiting mass murder in the name of Jesus.
-
I agree with you that the Christian religion is also backward, sexist and homophobic. If a goverment was run and had laws based on the extreme parts of the Bible i would be equally opposed to it. The Saudi Government views its interpretation of Islamic law as its sole source of guidance on human rights, it's laws - amputations and floggings etc, are based Sharia law - that is fact. I know it's not politically correct to say it but fact is there is a really screwed up and backward side to Islam, the same could be said of other religions but, for whatever reason, the problem is not as bad as Islam IMO.
-
I can't agree with that, whilst Christianity and Islam might have similarities to say they are more or less the same is rubbish. The Taliban are strictly religious, while you say they go against the rule of Islam they will say they are following it to the letter. Whilst religious extremists of any type are bad some very religious Islamic countries are completely screwed up, the more religious they are the more screwed up they are IMO. Islam is openly sexist and homophobic, and just because the church is too doesn't make it any more acceptable. To ay the actions of despicable governments like Saudi Arabia are not linked to Islam is nieve in the extreme.

Take out the old farts no one under 70 has ever heard of, and the players bought with dirty gun runner's money and their list consists of Alan Knight, Micky Quinn and Guy Wittingham LOL.
-
What a load of ******, it make you wonder what sort of idiots are in charge of the country. Every time you hear stories like this you just want to vote Tory, just to hopefully make a change.

It is pathetic that they can't handle the odd wind up, particularly after the were so quick with the -10 jokes when we were facing extinction. I don't usually look at skate sites out of principle but I'm tempted to go on their crappy message board now and do some fishing.
