  1. I went for 16th-18th, but that is being optimistic.
  2. Or we could have just not forked out a small fortune for Schneiderlin? Anyway the Banks pulled the plug because Lowe's crazy decisions were relegating us, if we were sat comfortably mid-table there is no way they would have called in the administrators.
  3. There is definitely something fishy going on. According to the skate message boards Gaydamak is still involved, Portsmouth Football Club Ltd doesn't own Fratton Park, ownership was transferred to a company called Miland Ltd (Gaydamack). Some reckon that Gaydamak could put the 'club' into administration at a probable loss but still retain ownership of Fratton Park and all the land surrounding it. I havn't a clue wether that could happen or not. The fantastic thing is it looks like they are being screwed by Gaydamak. Someone who's money comes from selling dodgy Russian arms to third world dictators is not going to be worried about ruining the lives of a few inbred football fans.
  4. Would be daft to sack him now, we have to give him time to get his team playing how he wants. I think if we are still 10 points adrift or similar by xmas he will have to go. Relegation is a real threat at the moment, if we are still 10 adrift at xmas it will be very likely. The worrying thing is I get the impression the club and fans alike seem to think we are somehow immune from relegation because we have a big ground, a nice training complex and a rich owner. All that counts for nothing if it's not right on the pitch. If we win our next 4 in a row we will probably still be in the relegation zone, a quarter of the season is gone and we have just one win - that is relegation form even without a 10 point deduction. We also cannot ignore the fact that Pardew was awful at Charlton and got them relegated, he could easily do the same to us.
  5. I thought they were ****, we should have put the game to bed at least twice. I cant believe they are 3rd in this league, it shows how poor the league is IMO.
  6. Not good enough, there are no excuses for Pardew, I would give him til xmas and if results havn't improved get rid.
  7. hmmmm... I wonder why Storrie didn't put a stop to the mad, unsustainable spending.
  8. Can't agree with that. For all the talk of progress, we are still 10 points adrift of safety and have only won 1 game. Yes we have not had a pre-season but Pardew has had money to spend that most clubs in this league can only dream about - he needs to start getting results soon.
  9. It is perfectly safe to drive at 100 in the right conditions as long as you are paying attention. It s done in Germany an Police often do it over here.
  10. I would be very surprised if Strach went anywhere near the skate job - he's had his fair share of nutjob chairmen in the past, would be a foolish risk of a good reputation. Unless there is a guarantee of serious cash in January I can't see any decent manager taking that job.
  11. LOL at the thought of a bunch of depressed skates, walking home from fartton park after getting a dicking from the scousers, all minus one Reebok.
  12. We had Lowe doing that for years, yet we still regularly had 32K turn up paying top whack. All this Arab guy is doing is getting your team on a sustainable budget, we have always had to do that but you lot are turning their back on the club in thousands. Southampton have never spent the money on the sort of players you lot did yet the year after our FA Cup Final appearance the Chelsea game sold out all 32 thousand in 6 HOURS! And that's to watch Ormerod, Telfer n co pit their wits against a top team, not a bunch of England Internationals. Southampton FC is so much bigger than Portsmouth it's funny, it's not even close.
  13. I think it's worth having a supporters group but think it's important that Illingsworth and any of the SISA lot have absolutely nothing to do with it. It needs someone without the political baggage. The Trust lost all credibility when they stood by and did and said nothing while Lowe almost killed the club.
  14. Waste of space, there's no point in a Trust now.
  15. Fry's job was to get the creditors as much money as possible, not to make sure SFC had a decent pre-season. We were facing extinction and ended up with a billionaire - it's hard to criticise Fry. Lynam on the other hand...
  16. Good things come to those who wait! Also if hosting the World cup means some fort of funding from the FA it might not even be a gamble.
  17. The way pompey are going they will be lucky to have a club let alone a new ground. Plus if they go down, with their poor support there will simply not be demand for a new ground. A 40K stadium would be a complete white elephant in Plymouth or Bristol, Southampton is the logical venue - best location, most cost effective stadia and best transport links.
  18. That's fantastic news! lets hope the council don't **** it up, Southampton is easily the best option for the South.
  19. Fantastic! An opportunity to spend 50 million of your hard earned £'s to get the club something that 9 out of 10 other clubs already have. I would hate to see the downside in owning pompey.
  20. We all know that certain refs are complete pussies and just can't handle the pressure at places like Old Trafford. If it was City pushing for the winner and 70,000 plastic reds calling for the whistle the spineless **** would have blown on the dot of 94mins.
  21. Whoever started this thread is a penis.
  22. You make the threshold so high that it is hardly ever used.
  23. I think the Fred West case illustrates a case where there is no doubt (bodies under house, wife admitted, torture on tape, numerous previous witnesses of abuse etc). When you compare that to the flimsy evidence that was used to convict the Jill Dando murderer - who was later released. You can see that there can be a million miles between two different murder convictions.
  24. We will need to produce Championship form to reach the play-offs, which whilst not out of the question is very unlikely, especially considering our poor start, and we were not exactly great yesterday. Much will depend on how the league pans out, if the top 6 team stay in good form we wont get a sniff regardless of how well we play, if it's quite a close league sometimes reaching 6th is not that hard if a good run is put together.
