  1. Hendrix, I think. Floyd were quite "ethereal" with projected back-drop and I felt at the time a bit weird, but enjoyable. The Nice with Keith Emmerson were superb as well. The problem was with package tours like this, the bands didn`t have time to do more than about 6 numbers each. Great, great night though! I also remember seeing The Stones on tour with amongst others, Ike and Tina Turner (who were brilliant!!) and The Yardbirds, at the Gaumont (now Mayflower) around the same time. One of the most amazing things that happened was that I saw the Who and the Spencer Davis Group at the Gaumont in the late 60`s. Afterwards we went into a little greasy chip shop about 3 doors up from the theatre. We were in the queue and we suddenly realised that the short guy at the front of the queue in a large fur coat, buying a portion of fish and chips, was Keith Moon! Stood directly behind us was John Entwhistle. We had a chat with him and he told us that Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry were in the Indian Resteraunt across the road, Great days!!
  2. Nothing wrong with that!!
  3. I`ve tried those. Not very kind on the ankles.
  4. Nelson was not a Skate! He came from Norfolk and lived near Wimbledon!
  5. He is as mad as a box of frogs! Would fit in well with the Poopsters down the M27!!
  6. I saw this show at P*rtsmouth Guildhall in 1967. What a line up for twice in one evening! The Jimi Hendrix Experience tour with Pink Floyd
  7. Is it me or do all of the the latest photos show AA giving his winsome look with the baby kitten "please don`t hurt me" eyes??
  8. Having had a read through this thread. two things, particularly strike me. Firstly, so many on here have carried on about freedom and rights and yet shout people like Dune down, wanting him banned and calling him names etc, whilst those with views 180 degrees opposed to him are treated differently. His views may not appeal to everyone but the very freedom that people cherish in this country includes freedom of speech. There are two sides to every argument. "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." And secondly the anti - Mail/Express/Telegraph stuff. All newspapers have an agenda - the "leftist" one as well as the perceived "Nazi" ones. It just depends on your personal poit of view.
  9. Rhyming Slang
  10. Doctor Octopus in goal??
  11. Yes, along with Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy and Dopey.
  12. Well all in all a decent night. Overjoyed that Chris Holder won and once again Nicki Pedersen was the Pantomime Villain after pushing Davy Watt into the airfence and getting him excluded and then trying to do the same to Hans Andersen! As usual Brits underachieved. Only downside - bloody X Factor acts as 'entertainment!'
  13. Certainly not the club.
  14. Off to Millenium Stadium for the British Speedway Grand Prix. Another one like this would be accepable!!
  15. Again, in a nutshell.
  16. In a nutshell.
  17. If we get off to a flying start and have a fantastic season all of this "negative" stuff will be forgotten. For us it has been a very quiet close-season so all of the"anti-Cortese" stuff has been blown out of all proportion. I accept that the biggest "crime" that has been committed is the lack of communication, and I find it both mystfying and annoying, but the vast majority of fans probably want just to go to games and watch a successful team.
  18. In your dreams!! Can you see a poll pacifying DBP/SRS???
  19. Let`s not forget that Lowe was generally accepted by the fans for 7 or 8 years while things were going O.K. It was only really after the 2003 Cup Final that they really turned against him. I think that Cortese at least deserves this season to see whether his "unpopular" measures work or not.
  20. I think not, but it was Solent and they are not always right - are they??
  21. Radio Solent, who this morning reported this as a "Radio Solent Exclusive" also said that AP is targetting "a Ricky Lambert type" striker and a RB.
  22. Was given a 32GB Touch for my birthday yesterday. Seems like a very impressive piece of kit. Does virtually everything that an iphone does except make phone calls. Have so far put well over 24hr of music on it and it`s hardly touch the memory. Cheapest seems to be Amazon.
