  1. Radio Solent said this morning that AP hoped to get "some new faces" in before tomorrow nights game. Any clues tac-tics??
  2. Mmmmm.... there`s a name from the past!
  3. miserableoldgit

    Named after a computor company????
  4. It wasn`t realistic to me, but the point I was making was that with hindsight it is easy for certain individuals to say MLT was "a tarnished hero" becuse of his support of Pinnacle. At the time of the Pinnacle "exclusivity" MOST people were behind it and were excited by the possibility of MLT as Chairman. It`s the easiest thing in the world to look at the situation now and find fault in MLT`s actions. He should be judged on his time as a player with Saints. An error of judgement, that virtually nobody blamed him for at the time should never detract from the loyalty that the man gave to this club over many years.
  5. Why do you have to post something that is generally sensible and spoil it? You just can`t help yourself can you?
  6. To blame for what? MOST people ( apart from the ITK`s that KNEW from the start that the Pinnacle Group were time wasters:rolleyes:) thought that they were going to take over the club. You only had to look at the threads on here that expressed excitment at the possibility of a MLT/KK running of the club to see that. MLT was taken in like most other people. The club was saved and we are in a position now to go forward. This English trait of setting people up as heroes and then taking great pleasure in knocking them down is very tiresome.
  7. These people that are re-writing history are annoying. I have been watching Saints for over 50 years. MLT is quite simply the best player ever to play for the team in that time. He was loyal and loved the club and had skill beyond belief.. He still lives the club. I have lost count of the times that I went home after a game with a smile on my face because of him. I am very sorry, and I can`t say this about many players, but when it comes to MLT and Southampton Football Club, the man is beyond criticism. People trying to find fault are just looking to be controversial. He is not a God, but as a servant to SFC, he comes pretty close. 19c, you can try to denigrate the man but all that you are doing is to confirm to everyone on here what a waste of space you are.
  8. August 20th I believe.
  9. Surely picking hops in Kent.
  10. Strange for such a massive club with a massive support not to fill their "stadium" for a bright new Premier League season. Still when they get their 40,000 seater World Cup venue I`m sure that they will manage to...... half fill it.
  11. What sort of reception did Dr Who get today?
  12. Perhaps he means that he`s looking forward to going back to Poopey for some more cut-price players.
  13. 17,000 - ish won`t help will it??
  14. Krapnottarf had 17,000 - ish today. How many did we have last week? Can`t remember!
  15. "Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics" - Benjamin Disraeli (CM - Maccabi Haifa)
  16. Apparently he had his hand down the front of his shorts just now so I`m guessing - yes!
  17. You knew that there would be a pigeon on the pitch?? You are truly ITK!!
  18. :shock::shock::shock:
  19. Yeah but they`ve promised that it`ll be more cutting edge!
  20. Of course they won`t! They won`t want to upset him in case he goes off in a huff and pulls out of the takeover - or is it takes out a pullover - not sure.
  21. Agree with everything you say here. Have watched many special players in the red and white over the years (Davies, Paine, Sydenham, KK, Channon etc) but MLT was the most special of the lot. There will never be another Le Tissier. I wonder when "someone" will come on here and drag this thread down with a "Pinnacle" reference.
  22. Went to Baghdad in 1989, just before the first Gulf War. A real eye-opener! We stayed in The Baghdad Sheraton in the international area but you didn`t have to go far to find the absolute poverty of much of the populace. A lot of money had obviously been spent on Palaces and monuments like the amazing crossed-sword victory arch to satisfy one mans vanity. Saddams attempts at "re-building" Babylon were at best tacky.
  23. Whilst I was at SMS this morning someone wanted some Swindon tickets and he was told that there were none left but a fourth allocation was coming in on Monday
  24. It will be a big ask. Huddersfield are, I think, pre-season favourites for at least a play-off place. I do hope that we are not expecting too much at this early stage and that I'm wrong. Amazingly and rather sadly I actually agree with 19C on this one
