  1. I think that you may be right. I believe that The Referendum Party became UKIP after Sir James Goldsmith died.
  2. Didn`t Rupes once stand as a candidate for UKIP?
  3. Personally, I would prefer a complete clean sweep at the Club, but if it was to be one of the "protagonists" of the last few years that remained, then I suppose Crouch would be the one.
  4. Radio Solent are reporting this morning that they "understand" that Leon Crouch will be invited onto the Board when the Pinnacle take-over is confirmed. They said that this could be controversial PR-wise with fans due to the in-fighting that occured when he was preiously Chairman.
  5. We don`t get that many for a live game do we?
  6. If we were to get to the final, I am sure that it will be an emulsional experience, but with Matt there I`m also sure that the gloss won`t be taken off the day
  7. I agree with you. Mind you, it COULD actually turn out to be our best pre-season ever! Lets hope!
  8. The problem is that until the "deal is done" we are all (me included) twitchy and susceptible to any nonsense posted on here. I believe the things posted by NSS (and considering that he is a skate, that is something!), Tony Lynham and the Farmer (and one or two others). I am am going back to my bottle of "Pheasant Gulley" (an excellent Cabernet Merlot from M & S ) and wait for things to pan out. Sober me up when it all happens!
  9. But surely this is obvious isn`t it? Until the deal is completed, it makes sense that nobody commits themselves publicly. We are all on tenterhooks waiting for things to be firmed up ( no double - entendres please!) before breathing a sigh of relief. I think that all that MLT has said is that he would be prepared to take the Chairmans role if asked. Don`t forget that he, as we understand, he is not part of the bid, he is just giving his support.
  10. Not too sure, but have any of the "deals" actually gone through yet? How do we know if the NC deal is any bigger than ours?
  11. So is the feeling - the need for a manager with Ist Division experience - such that If WGS was available and wanted the job, we wouldn`t want him?
  12. Sorry. I wasn`t having a go. It was a genuine question as I didn`t feel that MLT was saying that he was definitely saying that he was going to be Chairman. Mind you, I can understand you responding to 19C`s postings. He/she knows what buttons to press to get a reaction out of us!
  13. I don`t know if anyone else saw this on the Echo website last night, but it was posted under the same story as Ted Rogers. Make of it what you will:- CMFG Lover, Southampton says... 10:15pm Thu 4 Jun 09 Well I e-mailed Mark Fry today to find out what the Eff is going on because as a STH I think I deserve to know! I didn't expect a reply but got one from the man himself to say, and I quote, "all can say is that the deal certainly has not fallen through and we are proceeding as planned. I hope this helps. Yours, Mark Fry,Partner
  14. Did you actually hear the clip? He did not say that he was going to be Chairman. He did use words like "possibly" and "let`s wait and see" so it certainly wasn`t put over as a shoo-in.
  15. He also said that the Pinnacle stuff was going well, which after the Ted Rogers rumour was good to hear (if true).
  16. Does this tie in with this from todays Echo? Ted Rogers, Winchester says... 11:01am Thu 4 Jun 09 Ted Rogers wrote: Bad news re. Pinnacle Take over, they have put the brakes on having uncovered info during due diligence. Not in a position now to employ anyone at SFC. What`s this? Tell us more. Don't worry Pedant, it's a wind-up. Due diligence had already been done when the non-refundable deposit was paid. Ted must be a skate. Pete, What process do you think Pinnaccle and Mark Fry are going through now? Exclusivity and initial due diligence is not enough to complete a deal. Pinnacle now have access to SLH, SFC warts and all. I will accept your apology when this is announced formally. Ted, If you have been keeping up to date with everything, and read the letter from Tony Lynam himself, you would know all due diligence was completed beforehand, not just the initial stages. No-one wanted to pay the £500,000 so the books were opened to everyone but without exclusivity. This period has now been entered into for all the LEGAL matters to be concluded, not the financial matters. Where did you get the informmation from? Do you really think they would come this far to pull out in the final furlong? Pinnacle did not pay £500k, that was a figure mooted in the media and widely accepted by most. This deal is faltering - fact. Has no deal ever fallen out of bed because matters cannot be agreed upon? Do not think that this is a simple case of dotting i's and crossing t's;Pinnacle were given preferential treatment over the Jackson consortium on a set of verbal commitments and the involvement of MLT. You will soon witness the collapse of this deal due to 'irreconcilable difference'
  17. Vanilla Fudge!
  18. I pointed out my thought/suspicions about DD on another thread. I was just indicating where the Tabor started.
  19. I don`t think that Tabors name would have been mentioned had it not been for DD`s post, although I may be wrong.
  20. Here is the only reason that the Tabor rumour is popular/strongest. His most recent post, dated 29-05-09 :- DaintyDave Registered User Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 68 Michael Tabor. There, said it. "Mystery" backer no more. No need for silly hints, racing analogies and all that. Now wouldn't it be REALLY funny if it turned out Pompey deal wasn't quite as nailed on as claimed.................
  21. You don`t seem to have answered this question Stanley. "I respect their decision" is not an answer.
