  1. White Star Line?
  2. I have been reading this thread and I am not ashamed to admit that I have a lump in the throat and slightly moist eyes. Rupert would never have felt or understand this feeling.
  3. Everything that`s been said above and more..... A SAINT FOREVER M.O.G.
  4. To be honest, I fell out of love with football some while ago. It is only Saints (and my memories of watching them for over 50 years) that has kept any interest alive. I am a "Saint" and always will be but I can`t be asked to watch any games on TV esp Champions League. I might go to watch Eastleigh as I live 1/2 mile from the ground but otherwise I would really love to see a Premier League Rugby Union team in our area (at SMS?). The ethos of Rugby today is almost what Footballs was many years ago.
  5. This isn`t the first "I will not set foot in St marys while theres a chance that Rupert might return" post is it?
  6. But if it is within the rules, technically or otherwise, then why is it unfair?
  7. They may have been "far less" but Hoddle is not the manager or saviour that you continually seem to think that he is. His managerial record at all of his other clubs leaves a lot to be desired. All that GH was/is is a capable, but no more than average manager. There are so many things that led to our relegation. The non-appointment of GH is just a small piece of the jig-saw.
  8. I think that the comedy value has now gone out of this and it`s now becoming tiresome.
  9. Definitely encourage him. It is not just the artistic side that is important. It`s about being able to help a child think logically about things i.e. "if I put this and that together, I get this, or that will happen" It`s about expanding his thinking in ways that will be useful in practical terms in later life.
  10. Not sure if this is genuine or not but it is quite funny:- This is hilarious - no wonder some people were offended! This is the message that the Maroochydore High School Queensland staff voted unanimously to record on their school telephone answering machine. This is the actual answering machine message for the school. This came about because they implemented a policy requiring students and parents to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework. The school and teachers are being sued by parents who want their children's failing grades changed to passing grades - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough school work to pass their classes. The outgoing message: Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school. In order to assist you in connecting to the right staff member, please listen to all the options before making a selection: To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1 To make excuses for why your child did not do his work - Press 2 To complain about what we do - Press 3 To swear at staff members - Press 4 To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers mailed to you - Press 5 If you want us to raise your child - Press 6 If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7 To request another teacher, for the third time this year - Press 8 To complain about bus transportation - Press 9 To complain about school lunches - Press 0 If you realize this is the real world and your child must be Accountable and responsible for his/her own behaviour, class work, homework and that it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort: Hang up and have a nice day! If you want this in another language, move to a country that speaks it. -------------
  11. My point exactly.
  12. Have we??
  13. Hmmmmm...........
  14. Surely anyone that actually attends matches and has to sit through the proverbial "car crash" performances of the team deserves a medal.
  15. Agadoo??
  16. Sky Sports coverage of the Elite League starts on Monday with Poole v Swindon. Should be an interesting pointer for the season ahead. Can`t wait!
  17. A very well thought out and constructed response and not in the slightest bit offensive, because we don`t want to offend anybody do we?
  18. TBF most of the comedians that I have seen recently (Frankie Boyle, Andy Parsons, Russell Howard etc) fall into that catagory. True originals are few and far between.

  20. Seen quite a lot of comedy over the last couple of years and MM is one of the performers that I have enjoyed most. He managed to be very funny without resorting to too much smut or bad language. One of the worst I have seen is Paddy McGuiness @ Southampton Guildhall. A very short (not much more than an hour in total inc. an interval!) and not very funny.
  21. Not quite all of them! Caroline Flint Labour MP for Don Valley
