If you are going to post something controversial, you need to back it up with some logical argument, not just say "these are my opinions." What reasons do you have for making these statements?

Of course he hasn`t. He just listens to those with with those who shout loudest on here.

Oh, you mean the same man that took us to Wembley 3 times (including our only ever FA Cup win), that took us to runners-up position the the old First Division, that signed the then European Footballer of the Year (Kevin Keegan), that signed the likes of Peter Osgood, Peter Shilton, Dave Watson, Alan Ball, Charlie George etc. You don`t remember those things I suspect but you do remember somebody telling you that he "walked out TWICE ON SAINTS"

But this is part of the problem. The situation within the club is not clear cut - not black or white. There are a number of posters on here who see things the other way round i.e. Lowe and Wilde being the heroes and Crouch and McMenemy being the pantomime villains. The fact that we all love the club, it is interesting that views and opinions are so different. IMHO, we DO need a clean sweep - all of them out of the picture, but Lowe (and Wilde) made too many bad decisions over a long period. Crouch made mistakes (freely admitted by himself) but he is a Saints fan through and through and HAS put money into the club (£50000 pounds to the SOS fund just being the latest). As far as McMenemy goes, I am of "a certain age" and watched Saints acheive things beyond our wildest dreams under him, and NOTHING will take away my admiration for what he did for this club. Of all of the people who have made money out of this club, he is the one that deserves it most as far as I am concerned. There are people who have made far more than him who don`t deserve it.

Whilst I couldn`t actually hear what Crouch and McMenemy were saying (due to the dodgy PA system), I did hear the vast majority of the 28000 crowd cheer and applaud them - or was this just the "plastics"?

Thats because the callers name was John Lowe from Shirley, and he was standing up for Rupes.

Leave it, Um. He`s not worth it. We`ve all had a bit to drink...............

D, no amount of good exam results will be of any use to you if you cannot communicate properly and get people to understand what you are saying.
-
Does he already own a football club then?

Which was built by a Glasgow clockmaker. I might have just made that up!

Don`t spoil the fun!!

Oddly, I think that Rod Stewart had a spell singing with Southampton band "The Soul Agents" back in the 60`s.

They turned up because the Club is on the verge of going out of business after 125 years and there was a groundswell of everyone (by The Echo, and other media etc) being urged to get to SMS and help save the club. Do you think that the next 2 home games will have attendances as big just because Lowe has gone?? For anyone to suggest that 28000 turned just because Rupes is no longer there is naive.

Is Motty still active (professionally speaking!)? I thought that he had retired.

Anyone got a link to Babelfish??

Whilst there were probably a good few that wouldn`t go while Rupes was in charge, the main reasons for the drop in gates are 1) We are at the bottom of the CCC again, and 2) We have been served up complete and utter dross for the last 2 seasons. Like any other "business" if the "customer" is unhappy with the product, he/she will not buy it, especially at £25-30 a time.

Why, thank you very much.

You are of course quite right, but it doesn`t do any harm to have a bit of light relief in these trying times.

Rupes did say at the end of his interview last week that he didn`t regret coming back and would do it again! This could get to be like "Halloween" or "Scream" where you think that the villain is dead but they turn up again for the sequel!

Quite right and as he fell out with Lowe, it is unlikely that any Souness consortium would include him. I mean Wilde fell out with Lowe and.......Oh!
