Contemporary Ballet is only for birds, old duffers and gayers!!

You`re right! I forgot that. Doh! I suppose thats part of being an "old duffer"!

So you can do "The Fosse Walk"! My daughter went to Doreen Bird and used to do it amazingly well! P.S. Whats wrong with having a "Favourite Musicals" thread!
-
I hope so. I loved the cast on the "10th Anniversary" DVD esp (Colm Wilkinson, Philip Quast, Lea Salonga). Spamalot was supposed to be at The Mayflower but was pulled for some reason. Was rather hoping that the touring version of "Lord of the Rings" might go there at some point. "Ragtime" was magnificent. Maria Freidman was outstanding. She really is some performer. My next outing (I hope) will be to see "Warhorse" at The New London. Not exactly a musical I know, but one that I really want to see.

I love Les Mis. Have seen it four times and am always playing the music. Musical Theatre gets a bad press with a lot of people, but you cannot beat a good night out with a top musical. i know a number of people set in their ways who had preformed ideas about musicals but have changed their mind after going. I have seen most musicals in the West End and have rarely been disappointed, in fact I have had many pleasant surprises including going to watch "Ragtime" a few years ago which has become one of my favourites even though I knew little about it before I went.

Whilst "Fan Ownership" is not new and has been successful in a few cases, the concept as far as SFC is concerned does worry me somewhat, and may be just that step too far into the unknown. It worries me that should a "Fans Consortium" somehow manage to raise the cash, too many personalities and egos (we have had enough of those haven`t we?) could be involved. Too many Crouch`s, Chorleys, Illingworths etc who think that they should be involved at a high level to make it work. One hell of a lot of safeguards and procedures (not to mention professional people) would have to be in place to ensure that it worked properly. It cannot be run by amateurs. We can see how people on this board have violently opposing views as to how things should be done, and we all support Saints don`t we? I am not totally against the idea, but would need some convincing that it is the way forward. -
Her voice is O.K. but it is the contradiction in the voice/image thing that made the moment special. I looked at it on Youtube having not seen the show and it was interesting that most of the comments on there were from Americans. I looked at a video of Elaine Page and the same Americans thought that Boyles voice was better. I like musical theatre (no I`m not gay, before anyone suggests it!) and I hear far better voices than Susan Boyle at most shows I`ve seen. People like Maria Freidman, Ruthie Henshall, Lea Salonga (Hmmmm........) Marin Mazzie ...and Elaine Page have far better voices. Saw Evita at The Mayflower last week and the girl that played the lead (Rachel Wooding?) had an excellent voice IMHO.

He probably saw Ireland win the Six Nations Grand Slam and realised that their training and coaching methods could form the core of a revolutionary new football model for Saints to follow. Rupert is nothing if not visionary.

It`s your choice. It is not compulsary.

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?
miserableoldgit replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
This BS is getting boring and more than a bit stupid. For once I will post something that is more than an opinion - this is FACT! They were ALL responsible for our demise to some degree or another. The only debate is the allocation of the blame. NOBODY is blame free. For the Lowe/Wilde camp to blame Crouch/McMenemy for all of our ills is as bad as the Crouch/Mac crowd pointing the finger at L/W. As for those blaming the fans for all of the problems.......:mad: I realise that if you want a BALANCED view of the situation, with the exception of a handful of posters, TSW is probably not the place to look, but for goodness sake can we have less of the Pantomime Villain histrionics please? -
You are quite right. Ted was a legend, but you know that if he was still alive, there would be people on here that would be re-writing history and crucifying him for "leeching" on the club as they are with McMenemy.
-
McMenemy was manager for 12 years, during which time the club was taken to heights we could only dream of, before or since. 3 Wembley appearances (inc. the 76 win), Runners-up to Liverpool in First Division and a series of "household name" stars playing for the team (inc the then current European Footballer of the Year). Oh, I forgot - none of that was anything to do with McMenemy. It was all down to the players! In fact come to think of it, why do we need a manager? Let the players (not sure who would choose and sign them though) sort things out themselves.

Can I have the last word please?8-[

Ask them their opinion of Peter Ridsdale. That might give us a clue.

Well spotted, Detective Inspector Trousers! Was the usual "IMHO" deliberately omitted or not????

OI!! Do you mind??

This is a stupid argument. I am no great fan of Parkie but chat shows are a staple of TV all over the world and most people find them entertaining TV. News readers only read the news, actors are just play-acting, sports commentators are just telling you what you can already see......it goes on. What is your point? Are you saying that all people that host chat shows all over the world are talentless? Or is it just Parkinson ( who has been doing his show since the 60`s - must have done something that the public liked) that you object to?

I am probably being naive and missing the joke, but this Tommy Widdrington stuff is a wind up,right? It has to be because I can`t believe that anyone would want, as our manager, a very average former player with no managerial experience at a decent level to lead us out of our current problems, because "he bleeds red and white" is ridiculous. I suspect that MLT "bleeds red and white" more than most, and I can`t see him making a good manager for us either. Haven`t we learnt lessons with inexperienced managers (Grey, Wigley, Poortvliet etc)?
