  1. "For your tomorrow, we gave our today." NEVER forget.
  2. I`ll go with 8 & 7. The use of "of" instead of "have". Annoys me intensely. On the subject of grandmothers phrases, mine, when asked what was for dinner/tea, used to say "Wommle" (wommall??). Don`t have a clue what that meant!
  3. Perry McMillan??
  4. Kenna and Bridge come to mind. I`m sure people can think of a few others.
  5. I think to be fair that injuries (Lee Holmes, Morgan S, Perry etc, etc) along with the continual influx of (loan) signings will have had a detrimental effect on continuity. In the whole scheme of things these issues combined with the fact that JP is new to the English league and hasn`t really had THAT many games to get a settled side have made it difficult for him. As for the original question - I would like to see him given the chance to carry things forward but with a bit of money being available to bring in some better more experienced player in the particularly weak areas.
  6. I tried to take out a book on "How to Commit Suicide" from the library once. They wouldn`t let me have it though. They said that I wouldn`t bring it back!
  7. Yes very much so! Along with many others! http://images.google.co.uk/images?sourceid=navclient&hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&q=lewes+bonfire&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title
  8. If you have the time the place to be is Lewes in Sussex. The whole town is shut off the streets are packed, there are flaming tar barrels rolled down the streets etc. A wild and exciting experience! http://www.room139.lewesonline.com/
  9. I have had the odd migraine and they are BAD! Tried Imigran Recovery. Expensive but seemed to do the trick.
  10. You mean the "Flint" shirts, surely?!
  11. Seems like a pretty cool guy to me! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wzyT9-9lUyE
  12. I believe that they were given Andrew Sachs number because they were supposed to be doing an interview over the phone. When they called Sachs was not there and they got the answering machine. At this point the "schoolboy humour" took over and the rest is history. For the record, I actually like JR, although I can take or leave RB (too much reliance on sex and bodily functions from both of them though) and although I have Sky "Everything" I probably watch more BBC than anything else. I have no axe to grind one way or the other. To me it is just about what is and isn`t acceptable behaviour. IMHO, what happened to this ageing grandfather (regardless of who he is) goes beyond the bounds of acceptability. This was pre-recorded and could have been pulled by the Beeb and no-one would have known.
  13.
  14. Can we make a dinstinction between a prank (a planned action to elicit laughter albeit at someone elses expense) and two rich "lads" being unable to control themselves, not worrying about the results of their actions, and thinking that they cannot be touched. Is this "quality" broadcasting ( whatever your definition of "quality" is?
  15. Then you, presumably, are not Andrew Sachs, because I expect he found it f***ing hilarious!
  16. If my memory serves me correctly, didn`t Nick Illingsworth make some cryptic remark about something happening re:- Fulthorpe/takeover on 31-10-08 (today - and it`s a Friday!!!!).
  17. But it does effect your life. This is all about acceptable standards of behavior and respect for other people both of which are on the decline. It is about quality of life and how we all interact with each other. If you are happy the fact that people can say whatever they want about in any manner they want with any repercussions then thats your problem. Sadly, in this country, selfishness rules ATM. As long as I can do or say what I want, I don`t care what effect it has on anybody else. F**k everyone else!!
  18. So, if you or someone close to you was suffering from some horrible, possibly fatal disease, and someone else made fun of you, then that would be O.K. would it? Because its true? Or would that be different? My argument on this is that these two, who I normally have no major problem with, acted like a couple of out of control, priviledged public school boys on nightclub crawl. They thought that they couldn`t be touched and can do whatever they want. It certainly wasn`t comedy, it was a form of bullying against an elderly grandfather with no thought whatsoever for his feelings. i couldnt careless about the social implications.... Sadly this one statement says a lot about peoples general attitude in society today. "I couldn`t care less"

  20. Quite agree. He was all over the pitch tonight. Hope he keeps it up. Strangely, Jimmy Case on Radio Hants said he wasn`t very good and should have been taken off!
  21. Im Sorry?!! This is not a "couple of knocks! This is becoming the culmination of 5-6 years of complete dross. Inept displays on the field(during and after the relegation season), boardroom shenanigans that , if they were put out as a soap opera on TV wouldn`t be believed, are just 2 reasons why.
  22. I shall be there as always, and I shall support the team during the match BUT if we have yet another inept display (and God knows there have been enough of those over the last 4 years), then I will bloody well moan!!There is a big difference between being positive and being realistic. I like many others have had any trace of positivity knocked out of me over the years. This is Saints we`re talking about!
  23. Vulcan 607 by Rowland White. True story of the Falkland War. Riveting stuff.
  24. Fotheringay 2. Wonderful. The immortal Sandy Denny.
  25. The new album Matachin is superb! They are very exciting live. Have seen them 3 or 4 times as well as Jon Boden (who went to Henry Beaufort School in Winchester) and John Spiers as a duo. Wonderful stuff!
