  1. FA missing the point over Cole The Wembley crowd did not boo Ashley Cole just because he made a mistake. They booed him because they cannot stand him. All Cole's awful back-pass against Kazakhstan did was present the audience with the ideal opportunity to remind him of that fact. These people are not 'crazy', as an FA spokesman complained, unless it was a reference to the ticket prices they had paid. They had no need to feel 'ashamed' about it either, despite the entreaties of Rio Ferdinand. When Cole (right) admits he was crazy to issue his revolting wage complaints on leaving Arsenal, or even to wear that hideous Bacofoil suit and flaunt his bling in OK! magazine; when he confesses he is ashamed that he turned his back on referee Mike Riley in that infamous act of petulance; maybe then, when he does all that, the English public might give him a break. In the meantime, I'd say a boo is a mild reaction. From todays Des Kelly column in the Mail. I agree with this.

  8. I see your Zoidberg and raise you a Pilsplang!! I win!!
  9. Excellent! A Jackson Browne reference!
  10. I think all in all probabiltly Chris Nicholl. Things may have turned sour towards the end but I think (although I haven`t checked) that he was manager for 6 seasons so he must have done something right. Who is to say that things wouldn`t have turned sour with WGS, GH,etc if they had stayed as long as Nicholl? We were never world-beaters under him but we knew that we were capable of beating anybody on our day. You used to go to games with a certain amount of confidence (not always justified!) unlike recent years.
  11. Apparently Crouch "and one other" put their hand in their pockets to find the Andrew Davies transfer fee.
  12. Todays German Grand Prix cancelled due to bad weather conditions whilst constructing the track! Now being held in Poland next week.

  14. Listened to Solent Sports News at 7.20 this morning. Local football news - Two Poopey games re-arranged and today is "POOPEY COACH TONY ADAMS 42nd BIRTHDAY!!" No mention of the three Saints players possibly taking part in tonights U21 game. Happy Birthday Tone!

  19. Is this a euphemism for something?
  20. TBF whilst it does seem to be an "X Files" rip-off it seems to be quite well done and may well work. I just hope that they don`t over do it and make it out-stay its welcome like "Lost"
  21. Yes. I saw it at Harbour Lights. I may be wrong but I don`t think that it was directed by the same guy. I think he was executive something-or-other, but it is a superb piece of cinema. Not quite as scary as most critics said but still makes you jump. More with what you don`t see than what you do! Spanish Cinema is strong at the moment. Also look out for "Volver" with Penelope Cruz - another cracking piece of work (her AND the film!).
  22. Sadly not but looking forward to watching on Sky. Come on the Pirates!
  23. TBF I don`t blame JP. He, like the rest of us, is a victim of circumstances. We have been relegated. We have no money. We are probably close to admin. He has been offered a chance that he couldn`t have dreamed of by Rupes. What would you do in his position? I`m not sure what the answer is to our current problems, but the right take-over would help. Until then, we are where we are. Between a rock and a hard place.
  24. An absolutely superb film. Would definately make it into my top 10 of all time. If yo haven`t seen it also try "The Lives of Others". Different type of story but almost as good. I am sat here watching "Mongol" at mo. Excellent movie.
