  1. I wouldn't disagree that we have been "lucky" as a generation...certainly compared to my Dad and Grandad, both of whom fought in World Wars, but when I was growing up in the 50's there was rationing and austerity.....things changed in the 60's and began to get better. We got married in 1971 (and we still are) and lived in a mobile home for 7 years. We bought our first house in 78...and shortly after inflation went up to 25%....our mortgage that we could just afford virtually doubled....it was a real struggle. We had the oil crisis and the three day week....we had the recession of 80 when I was out of work for 3 months....nothing around. All I am saying is that it hasn't all been "lucky". All you can do is play the cards that you have been dealt in life. Surely we can't be blamed for that? It now seem fashionable to blame baby-boomers for most things....but in a democracy we all have a vote that we should cast freely and honestly....nothing should change that. 2. Pathetic! Stand up for yourself when you are young and you are strong.....do it when you are old and you are Whiney.... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  3. I am 68. I have worked all my life (since 15). I have paid all of my tax and NI all of those years. I have just retired now so I voluntarily worked three years past my official retirement age. I have done my bit (and some) so I find your comment "as a generation, the baby boomers have become winey, entitled, smug, self serving and ungrateful for the opportunities they have had." disgusting and insulting. I am none of the things that you accuse my generation of, and nor is anyone else that I know. If you accused any other section of society of those things I am sure that it would be considered unacceptable but I expect that baby-boomers don't matter because we have outlived our usefulness... 8. I have had this 3 or 4 times in my adult life. Each time it has happened it has been when I am away from home and on my own. It genuinely feels like someone is laying on top of you and you freeze in fear....unable to move. Very scary... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  13. I do get somewhat ****ed off with this recurring argument. I have been supporting Saints for 60 years....I have been a continuous Season Ticket holder for over 40 years. Please don't tell me that I am not a supporter because I might leave some games a few minutes early (I left last night on 86).... I pay a lot of money for my seat and if I am not enjoying what I see, then I reserve the right to vote with my feet, rather than stay behind and take part in the booing that I heard last night....obviously from "real" supporters... 14. But something that I have noticed, particularly this season, is that when player receives a pass while going forward, they instinctively turn and take the ball with their back to the opponents goal, meaning that they either have to pass the ball back or have to turn 180 degrees to start an attack....generally the back pass seems the preferred option. Perhaps some experienced coaches on here can say if this is standard practice or something specific to Saints training... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  15. Minor point but I seem to remember that Redmond was signed some time before Puel was appointed. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  16. To me, the biggest problem is the fact that we never replaced the goals that Mane and Pelle scored....not having a real goal threat has let down both Puel and MP. Charlie Austin is not the answer. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  17. Strange remark from MP in his interview about expecting help both on the field and off....
  18. I don't quite get this...someone who may or may not be ITK posts something on an internet forum which may or may not be true. I find it quite annoying when someone pretends to be something that they are not for whatever reason but I can't be bothered enough to rebuke or bait them because it just isn't worth wasting my time getting involved....and it drives any genuine ITKs away....I just accept their "information" and see if it's true....if it's not then big deal.... 21. I read this quickly and thought that you asked if someone could describe A goal.......now that is a good question...

  23. I am normally the last one to give in to knee-jerk reactions...I like to give people a real chance to build something...but sadly after yesterday I am coming the conclusion that relegation is a real possibility this year. The only thing that worries me is the natural imbalance in the squad. We can`t score goals. We are not shipping goals but it has been obvious for a good while that we don`t have the personnel to put the ball in the net on a regular basis. Any new manager would have to work with the same squad possibly with the same results....
