For what it is worth I have been watching Saints for 60 years. I have had a ST for over 40 years...but....I fell out of love with football some years ago. I never watch it on tv unless Saints are involved. I have no interest in the Champions League. I haven't watched an England game for years. The whole thing is just too money orientated. I watch Saints and continue buying my ST because it has been a way of life for too many years. My favourite sports are Rugby and Speedway where generally people take part for the love of what they do.....not purely for the money and fame. Can I ask why this would be? What advantage would Reed and Black gain from trying to impose a system of play that is obviously not working? I am quite angry about the lack of recruitment in the attacking department. I may be simple minded but I don't get this "no 10" business. What we have been missing is a physical presence in the opposition's 18 yard box. We haven't had it since Pelle left. We had it with SRL and GP. There is no point dropping balls into the box when we have a strike force consisting of Munchkins. PL defences seem to be peopled with recruits from the Land of the Giants... Must be just me then. Whilst I admit he was responsible for some "lazy" passing last night (then again who wasn't?) I also saw some very good close control and some excellent passes threaded through the Wolves defence. In fact when looking at this forum at half time last night one or two people had him down as one of our best players in the first half. I am not saying that he is the finished article but in my opinion he needs to be used properly and have a good run in the team. He is certainly not the liability that a lot make out. I started watching Saints in the mid 1950's so I watched Paine, Sydenham, Davies, Chivers and Channon etc, but MLT is the best player that I have ever seen in a Saints shirt....and that includes Keegan! I went home with a smile on my face so many times after watching him....win or lose!
