Eliza's out according to his Instagram. Not the best way to announce that surely.

Cracking player, shame he was so injury prone. Who's with me?

Saints 1 Palace 0 - Post Match Nerve Reconstruction
mitch01 replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Been to 4 of the last 5 before tonight and saw zero goals - delighted to check my phone on 85 mins at the pub and see the update. We aren't playing well but it's a massive result - all about the three points. Plenty of games left, hopefully we can go on another good run. COYR -
Morgan's description of it is how I perceived it - great player who did a massive amount for us, was clearly emotionally attached to the Club but felt he had to leave, didn't do it perfectly. I've only been watching SFC for 15 years but he's one of the best in that time.
-
Agreed. Thankful for how much he contributed, disappointed that he left and the manner of it, still got very fond memories of his time here. He's rolled the dice and hoping he can be part of a great new era at Liverpool who could conceivably win the league at some point (plenty would have to change but they've come close twice relatively recently), rather than stay and cement a hero status here. I know what I'd rather he'd done but I do get it. The way in which he left is obviously another matter and he probably isn't proud of it but it just doesn't justify the personal hatred on display from some. My 'Lallana 20' shirt will still get a runout on occasion.

No mate, it's just that the vast amount of good he did for us far outweighs his allegedly disappointing actions last summer. Epitomised a brilliant time to be a Saints fan - talent and hard work. There'll be applause from me
-
Left under a bit of a cloud but never anything but 100% committed whenever he was on the pitch for us. I don't feel the need to hate somebody because they decide (after most of their life spent at the club) that they want to try to do something else. Disappointed yes, but it really doesn't warrant the hatred and bile we'll see on Sunday. He played a huge part in the most enjoyable time I've had supporting the side. Endless great performances, came through our ranks and a massive factor in why we rose through the leagues so rapidly.

Just how good was Harry Reed?!? Rated him before Wednesday but now I think we might have another gem on our hands. Could be JWP and Reed in our midfield for a while to come.
-
Do those criticising JWP think that: a) He isn't good enough to be in our team and likely never will be b) He isn't good enough to be in our team at the moment and should have a reduced role (replaced by X) until he shows more improvement c) He is good enough for our team but just isn't performing well at the moment / for the whole of this season I think he could be contributing more than he is (he should have had 3 goals since the turn of the year based on chances that have fallen his way) but I'm perfectly happy to show a bit of patience with a young CM who shows lots of ability but just hasn't put all the pieces together yet. What was Morgan like at 19? Was he starting every game for a team that's third in the country? And who should be playing instead? Say he's still not imposing himself on games in three years time (still young at 23) then I could see why people might be disappointed, but if he was the complete package now he would be worth £25m. We've got a great player there and he's going to get better and better - give it time.

Adkins did a great job. Poch left when he was part way through doing a great job. Koeman is doing an even better job.
-
Plenty of good things, gutted to lose it. Thought the atmosphere was good until around 60mins - too many seem to think we have a right to slice through teams like Swansea and win easily. Tadic was great in the first half, poor in the second. Clyne also uncharacteristically poor after the break. Still, on another day we'd have won 2-0 - created lots of good situations.
-
Sad to see Cork go. Probably just as good a player as Davis but in a different position where we have seriously good starters in Schneiderlin and Wanyama. Can't remember a significant error in his time here. Great player.
-
He's 20. He's going to be great.
-
He's already good and will get better and better. Very intelligent player, great technique, fantastic at dead balls. As he gets older he'll get stronger and be able to impose himself a little more and effect games more than he does now. Most clubs in the division would love to have him in their ranks, he'll play for England. I'd back him to get a goal or two before the end of the season and 5+ next year - then he'll really start being talked about.

I think we would need 27 more points (taking us to 69) to have a chance of the CL. 65 is the average required, and the chasing pack aren't significantly above their usual points level after 22 games, but there are more chasers than usual - and of a higher quality (as you might expect given that a 'new' challenger like us has forced its way into the reckoning). I still feel we would have to get quite lucky to finish above three of Man Utd, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool. I think that the first three of those especially are well capable of going on a storming run and taking it out of our hands. But if they don't, 27 more points should do it - 8 wins and 3 draws. At our current performance level, and with lots of good players to come back, that is definitely conceivable. Getting ourselves 7 points from the next three would give us an even stronger platform. Whatever happens, it's astonishing to look at the league table after 22 games and to see our name up there. The next few years look bright whatever happens until May.

Such a great result. Clyne, Ward-Prowse and Elia all excellent We're getting good at winning these games.
-
What have we just gone and done
-
I was thinking about going but the train from London is expensive - do we ever do travel from the capital?
-
Fonte, Clyne, Alderweireld and Davis have all been fantastic.

250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?

I really enjoyed his interview after the West Ham win this season. One of the most genuine I've seen. -
All set for Arsenal thanks.
