this deal is not dead

Wonder if the Alex will open early enough for a pre-match pint then.

I am a mug. I arrived at the ticket office at 8am and stood for an hour in the freezing cold. The only thing I could do to try and stay sane was count ... I made it to just over 1200 by 8:55am when other people joined the queue and the ticket office open. On the plus side, I got two pairs of tickets refunded and purchased two half-season tickets with MK Dons tickets to match. By 9:05, all windows of ticket office one were in action and serving customers. I had to chuckle at people's attitude when told that seating wasn't available in key blocks unless they wanted to go right to the front or right to the back. The amount of people questioning if the staff were sure there weren't four seats available together in the middle of block 19 etc amazed me. Hats off to the ticket office staff who must get sick and tired of us fans and our stupid questions all day long and thanks to Gavin for sorting out my potentially confusing refunds and purchases.

It's not so much the new registrations, but I think the tickets left after season ticket holders have got theirs will be going to existing registered customers who fulfil other specific conditions, e.g. attended all FA Cup games so far etc.
-
Yes but the club have no idea who would be actually using the 'second' ticket. All they know is that it was originally purchased by a season ticket holder before being passed on to any Tom, **** or Harry. I guess they could always trace it back to the purchaser if it came to dishing out bans though. However, I still think allowing fans with a particular purchase history to buy tickets, before allowing season ticket holders to buy extras, is fairer. Allow season ticket holders to buy spares and I believe you'd see the majority of season ticket holders taking up their second ticket on the basis of giving it to 'a mate'. It's the people who have gone to the games who are the most deserving, not those who are friends with people who have gone to lots of games. All IMO of course.

thanks mate, i should be fine then.
-
thanks stu, but i've got two sets of tickets I've already preordered that I want to sort a refund on at the same time. I was concerned that the 'hotline' is outsourced and that I won't speak directly to the ticket office. Do you know if that's the case or not? If I can do a refund on my preorder tickets at the same time via the hpone, I'll save myself the early morning!

and does the ticket office really not open until 9pm??? Would it be nice if they could open one window from 8am perhaps, for the pre-work crowd.
-
Reason: that will teach me to copy and past without checking. thought it looked wrong lol

What is Pardue? Is it French for pardon or something?

As somebody has said, allowing season ticket holders to buy a second ticket would ruin the principal behind restricted sale. The club don't want any tickets being sold that are going to be used by unregistered fans. This is why they will start with season ticket holders and then create some sort of criteria based on purchase history this season. This is the safest and fairest way of ticketing.

Right, I'm going to go and get a couple in the morning. One question though ... is it simple enough to buy my own, but also a second for a friend using their details? What details will the club need for me to do this? Just name, dob and address etc? I know I could just buy two in my name, but I want my mate to have his own ticket with his own name on etc.

Only if you're buying 'cheap' tiles and tiling a very small area.
-
If it's floow to ceiling it would be about £350. Work down from there depending on how much / litte you're doing.

I have it on good info that certain suppliers turned up at Pompey's training ground this morning and took away food supplies due to outstanding invoices remaining unpaid. Looks like lunch may be a rather lean affair over the next few days.
-
why not eh? something to bash around instead of beach balls etc.
-
BArgain!!!! Inflatable fish for just 99p people!
-
great link mate ... cheers for that. big price difference for the different parts of the ground though; £160 -£199. Still my £199 ticket would still work out at less than £19 per game. So I'd save £6 per game and still get guaranteed cup / playoff tickets.
-
Cheers ,a bit extra for centre stand then but that's about the money I was thinking. Still a fair saving over paying £25 per game for the rest of the season.
-
Well, a mate and I are in an odd situation where we've been buying tickets for all home games (league and cups) since the beginning of december, and a few games earlier in the season. However, we've either purchased them on the day or through my online account. The upshot is that all our purchases won't be logged / linked and we'll struggle for MK Dons, JPT Final, Pompey - and, dare I say it? - playoff tickets together. We're in a position where we're probably going to go to the vast majority of the home league games left so if we can buy season tickets, save money and ensure the 'hard to come by' tickets, it should be a no-brainer. I can't see why the ticket office won't sell season tickets, but I wondered if anyone had just purchased one so might know the price.
-
Does anyone know if they can still be purchased for the rest of the season? Any gues on prices ... I guess about £165???

If you think you'll get a decent plasterer in Southampton for £100 per day then you're obviously employing pikeys from the ****ty council estates.
