  1. It all depends what the fee would be and what his wage demands would be. Assuming his wage demands would be within our budget, what sort of fee would people be happy for Saints to pay? £250k? £500k? £1m approx? Free transfer only?
  2. Definitely. The Specialized Pitch looked good value last year with its two models priced at £1199 and £1399. It's an all mountain bike so is designed to cope with anything, i.e. a jack of all trades bike, but the reviewers say it's defintiely a competent all rounder. However, this year's bike is identical to last year's and they've simply hiked the price to £1399 and £1599 to compensate for the weak £. The cheaper of those models still gets the decent frame and competent components but the rear shock is still without a full lockout. At £1199 last year it didn't look too bad a proposition. At £1399 this year, it's not so hot. The OP should definitely get on ebay though. If you find somebody local selling a one or two year old high spec full suspension bike, you could get a great deal. Try this sort of thing ... link This one is a really good bike if you've got the cash - link
  3. mine definitely isn't that slow, unless it has just been booted up. I would phone them as yours sounds abnormally slow.
  4. I wouldn't buy a full suspension bike unless you have in the region of £1300 to spend. The 'cheap' ones (£800 - £1100) etc will be heavy, have poor quality rear shocks without a full lockout option, and will use low quality components akin to those you would find on a £500 hardtail. You can get some used bargains though; i have friends who have purchased Specialized FSRs for approx £500 from ebay!
  5. nope. My V+ Box is hardly fast, but I don't have to wait for it to catch up. Without being funny, shouldn't you just wait for it to respond to a button press before doing the next? The sky boxes are a lot more responsive but I still believe the VM product is better overall.
  6. I didn't use the word "disappointing", I used the word "underwhelming" which means 'fails to interest'. I implied that I would reserve judgment until he'd played. You were wrong to quote my post as your rant had little to do with what I said. Stop misconstruing posts and start quoting ones which are relevant to your rants.
  7. You're a right drama queen. Do you want to reread my post and tell me how I've condemned any of our players? I think I expressly implied that I would reserve judgement until I've seen them play but that signing a League One cast-off isn't exactly exciting. How you can start ranting at that, I haven't a clue. You certainly live up to your name.
  8. oh dear ... my underwhelmed-o-meter has just plumbed new depths. I hope Pards knows best and hope these guys turn out to be good.
  9. As underwhelmed as many others. I hope AP knows best and will reserve full judgmeent until he's had enough games to prove himself. Really can't get excited about this one at the moment though.
  10. Hardly, Skacel never returns Facebook messages.
  11. All this to-ing and fro-ing, why doesn't somebody just bite the bullet and Facebook Ward?
  12. Sounds like stuff which the Andriod OS can do by default and, as I've already said, the latest 3gs handsets don't work with the current jailbreaking methods according to other forums on the interweb.
  13. I thought it was an iphone actually:rolleyes:
  14. If O'Driscoll walked out of Doncaster Rovers, would the club's management want to let him take Stock with him anyway? It all depends on whether O'Driscoll's hypothetical departure was mutually agreeable or not.
  15. This is pretty interesting and puts the situation in a different light. So Stock replied to me and other people about his Saints intentions. He's obiovusly fairly relaxed about the whole thing if we know he has told at least two strangers about it on Facebook. As I said, he wasn't happy about us posting about it on the Donny Forum though, I think he thought that was a bit nasty. So let's avoid any of that sort of behaviour and could cause trouble amongst his current team mates and fans. From my communication with him, i genuinely beleive he wants to be able to play for Saints but I gather that he does not wish to burn his bridges with donny as he doesn't know whether or not the move will come off.
  16. Is this called fraud?
  17. Right ... this is getting a little silly now. What on earth is the point of deciding that the info is too sensitive for broadcast and deleting the actual thread (which is fine in itself, don't get me wrong), but then allowing a new thread which makes it quite clear what was said in the first place??!!?!? There should be a clear moderating position on this and at the moment it appears that there's no clear concensus about what should / shouldn't be talked about. The info itself (the nature of which I shan't go into now that it's been decided not to publish it further) was online for less than 10mins before it was mutually decided that it should be removed. In contrast, this thread which goes over the situation in great detail, has been here all day. Ask yourselves, how many people saw the original post in comparison to how many people have learnt about the situation by reading this thread today?!?!?! Finally, I'm disappointed by the way in which the info appeared on the Donny Fans' Forum within minutes of it appearing here. I thought sharing the original info with fellow Saints fans was in the spirit of the forum, but taunting Doncaster fans with it is another thing entirely and puts Stock in a difficult position. I have heard from Stock today and discussed the situation and things are ok. I would not advise anybody to try and contact him about the situation. Things are ok, but pushing at the situation further and further could make things take a turn for the worst in my opinion. The images are no longer online unless they have been saved by others and duplicated. In the spirit of the decisions made here, I would suggest that people refrain from reposting any copies of the info until the transfer situation has been clarified. I'm not going to engage in any further debate about it, I have nothing to prove about the rumours and, in my opinion, all talk of the situation should now be banned, at least until the signing has or has not occurred. Fingers crossed for good news this week.
  18. Let's just say, we're expecting some news this week and leave it at that.
  19. You can trust (some of) us. Remember kids .... the mods won't be angry, just very disappointed.
  20. I wonder what the Donny forums have to say about it?
  21. That picture is clearly fake anyway becuase if you look closely you'll see there's a tab referring to page 6 of a thread about Brian Stock on TSW, and everybody knows there is no thread about Brian Stock on TSW.
  22. matthew! Don't wind up the mods... it's their forum and their rules etc!
  23. shhhhhhh
  24. Did he produce Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". I love that song ... it's an awesome backdrop to the scene featuring it in Pulp Fiction.
  25. Do they do CRB checks?
