Not really; just prepared to give the patient more time to recover, that's all. If you have any better suggestions, am quite happy to hear them.

Whilst you are of course entitled to your opinion John, which I respect, I am becoming increasingly irritated by the use of the "Pardew has failed to deliver" mantra which seems to be creeping in to many posters' vocabulary. In what way has he failed to deliver? If you mean he is not winning every game, then by that logic yes, he has failed; but then so has Arsene Wenger, Roy Keane, Chris Coleman and many others, all of whom I am sure you and others would have loved to have on board. Do people realise the extent of the rot in our club? Pardew has spoken about the dismal lack of infrastructure - the lack of scouts being a major one - and this will take time both to cure and to start having an effect. The players who were here last season were either not up to it, didn't want to be here or have had the confidence completely knocked out of them. That is not going to be changed overnight. It would appear that there has been a systematic failure at SFC over the last 2 years to coach players properly, to teach them their jobs properly. How do you undo that damage in a matter of weeks? You can't, simple as. Improvements have been made - everybody who went to the game yesterday is saying so and I am inclined to believe them, frankly - and will continue to be made. But we all have to be patient and expect that the corpse of a football club that was SFC pre-Liebherr is going to take some time to be revived. I will be judging Pardew at the end of this season and then again at the end of next. That, in my opinion, is reasonable. To say otherwise, to my mind, is sensationalist nonsense which demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of our predicament.

As someone who wasn't able to go yesterday, I am both grateful for and far more inclined to trust posts such as these which in my humble opinion hit the nail squarely on the head. It is so refreshing to read the thoughts of people who have the evidence of their eyes to make sound, reasoned judgements, and who understand that the decay of the last 5 years will not disappear in a handful of games. Progress clearly is being made - that is confirmed by the reports of all who went yesterday - and Pardew is clearly as keen as anybody to turn this around, but it will take time. We all have to be patient. There is no other option. "Long and hard is the road that leads up from the darkness into the light"

My cat is poorly (pawly?); if I bring him along could you, or one of the other vets, have a look at him? BTW, who will be manning all the surgeries if you guys are all kicking the pig skin around?

I would just like to know who proof reads the OS articles as they are invariably peppered with typos and spelling mistakes....there are two in the opening paragraph alone. Back off to pedants' corner now.... :-)

Nothing at all on Foxes Talk, the Leicester version of this board....

I hope Watford don't have toupee Raziak too much otherwise they may not buy him.

Since AP is directly quoted as saying that we are working on a couple of players coming in, I think the Professor is right. That is therefore clearly the intention; get more in before the window closes irrespective of whether the Poles leave.

Just as well for Tommy - he got absolutely lambasted after his clown-like performance against Crewe when they lost 4-0!

It's funny but I could swear Wotton chickens out of tackles.... :-)

I'm available.

At last some common sense; the hysteria on here is embarassing. I propose we merge S-Clarke and DUbai Phil and then maybe - just maybe - people will see why we just all need to be a little more patient.....

We have already spent more on one player than any other team in our league - a player who scored more goals than any other league player last season AP has already signalled his intent to bring in more players, 1 or 2 before Saturday's game AP and DW are currently having to do pretty much everything between them, whilst a decision on a sporting director is made Throwing money at Saints is not a recipe for success; we have seen before the folly of this approach. I think everybody needs to sit back and be just a tad more patient. It's becoming quite embarassing on here with the forum going into meltdown everytime our demands (spend £5M, get 8 more players in today, get rid of so-and-so) are not met. We have a club - something which was not assured only a few short weeks ago - and the people in charge are working their way towards getting Saints back where they belong. But this takes time; be patient.

Well now you really are ITK Ponty, as Ricky and I will be doing a celebratory tribute version of Renee and Renata's "Saving all my love for you" at the Red Lion karaoke night this evening (7.30 p.m. K.O - ROAR)

I don't know if anybody else has mentioned this yet, but Pinnacle's offices - if memory serves - were on the Avenue, just down from the Cowherds. Well, if that was the case, then it certainly isn't the case any more; walked past them on Saturday and no sign of Pinnacle anywhere.....

I thought that was rather good Arizona even if nobody else got it ;-) -
I would add to this that I find it hypocritical and not a little ironic that people choose to single out immigrants for verbal and physical attack, labelling them as freeloaders, when every day I drive past many of this country's finest indigenous youth doing the square root of **** all and then complaining that their benefits don't stretch to 20 Marlboro a day, an XBox 360 and a Plasma TV. Perhaps we should look a little closer to home at a generation of British people either too lazy, or too comfortable to seek/do work whilst the immigrants they and others seek to criticise are actually trying to achieve something.

If you liked City of God, which is indeed excellent, try and watch the documentary Bus 174 which chronicles the consequences of one individual's abandonment by Rio's authorities as he makes his way out of the Favelas to hijack a bus full of commuters. Absolutely riveting throughout.
