Meanwhile, City centre-half Taylor Harwood-Bellis is another academy product expected to move before Friday's deadline. Nottingham Forest had the England under-21 captain on a list of potential additions but Southampton have won the race to sign him on a loan deal. It is understood that former City coach Enzo Maresca, now the manager of Leicester City, is now unlikely to sign him. from Percy of the Telegraph

Bayern also interested in Eric Dier so Dortmund seems the only choice.
-
I agree. Just a question whether he’s up for the challenge here and has the tenacity to knuckle down and work hard to gain the chance to play. it seems his management team are touting him around which isn’t the best of signals.
-
It’s sad, but that made me laugh, not so good in an open office environment!
-
Just hope he doesn’t help Everton stay up.
-
It’s been posted before, only question is if he would get game time there given the other players they already have. Ditto with Bayern who were also sniffing around.

I think where Hypo is coming from is the critical positions, like CF last year. That still needs to happen if Adams is off. Need that goals scorer to help push for promotion.
-
In what way are they committing to immediate promotion? I don’t know how good their squad is, only like us have played ok, haven’t been tested - although we’ve played a good Norwich side - and have still got the results. One issue Martin is addressing is replacing the losing mentality to always pushing and striving to play better and win. Hopefully the remaining squad work well together. I think that counts for a lot rather than having a star player(s) to rely on. If we can get a good CF in if Adams is going there is no reason to think Saints cannot push for promotion. No guarantees but Saints should be up there with Leicester and Leeds.

Clubs can loan in (or out) maximum of eight players and as you pointed out name five in match day squad. same deadline slam as transfers this season.
-
I’m sure they have their own better view and hence why there has been a change with our Serbian Overlord taking a keener interest and Ankerson nowhere to be seen.
-
I wouldn’t look at it that way as some of the cost has been realised with fees obtained this summer. It’s clear he messed up. There was an estimated cost of relegation in a post or article but cannot remember the figure.
-
I think the finances are unbalanced with having such a big squad with the wild spending last summer, not so much from fees paid but the remuneration package which contributes to ongoing baseline costs and restricts cash flow. Maybe the club statements about reinvestment of sales support the restructuring of the club (not squad). Relegation a costly mistake when Ankerson “broke” our transfer policy. Big test now for Wilcox and Martin if Adams goes in selecting a suitable replacement for the promotion push.
-
Especially if it’s been difficult to get the players wanted to join that could be seen to make the step up. If promotion is achieved, it makes it harder to make the adjustment, as Nottingham Forest found out. That’s a bit of a risk.
-
Perhaps if the Leeds rumour of wanting Paintsil is true, they can sign him for £15m+ and then use the money to buy back TP from us! 😜
-
He would certainly ask questions of their goalkeeper…. And in fact anyone else.
-
Their system is a bit more structured than just having a black box. Their player succession planning is second to none. I don’t know how much trouble they be in if they lost some staff that are involved in the process but the system is pretty slick.
-
A fair summary, although I don’t see the point of being nervous as it’s nothing fans can influence. You missed Smallbone as a returning loaner, who has performed well so far. If SR are interested in returning to the PL this season then the next two weeks are going to be huge, both in terms of quality of players coming in and who departs.
-
NFL is number one, but that’s a league. Depends on what parameters the pillock has set for the grand statement.
-
But it was known this was going to be a roller coaster ride of a transfer window. I think all of us are hoping by the end of the ride we have new players in the building which can help a promotion push. Still two weeks left.
-
centre backs as it stands are: ABK Stephens Bednarek Lyanco Awe Discounting Simeu as I don’t know anything about him apart from loans to lower leagues. If ABK departs as expected, another defender is needed, if Lyanco goes - sold, loan or released, Awe will be the fourth choice CB but if Bednarek departs another CB is required. That’s how I see it.
-
Is that allowed now?
-
Yes, otherwise lost 1-0 in the SB cup in ‘21 and won 2-1 in friendly in ‘19
-
Maybe have a basic pay structure and stick a performance related clause for all players - club does well then the players get rewarded. Cannot see it happening as players are on to a good thing as they are.
-
Brighton have already got a replacement, it’s the replacement of the replacement they need to get in but they won’t as he will not be able to go into the first team for a few seasons.
