  1. First part of that sentence is good to hear as we must be one of the lowest goalscorers in this league. We need someone in ASAP (or someone back!!!!). The second part though is a bit concerning, because if Jan really thinks that all DMG and Robertson need is one goal and then more will follow, then he has me worried!!!!!
  2. Your last sentence is a key factor for me. For me, Jan tinkered, tweeked and didn't know who to play where early on (even allowing for injuries). Combined with that, I think he persevered for too long with players who weren't performing. Hopefully, he's now found what is his strongest side and sticks with it. One continuing concern for me though is up front and our inability to put the ball in the net. DMG is not the answer.
  3. next week charlton away at Blackpool who are just above us (not sure what result I want, prob home win) watford away at Brum so big ask
  4. i make it we move up a place
  5. holding on to a point and keeping the 4 pt gap
  6. norwich still losing and watford donny and charlton havent closed the gap
  7. blackpool equalise
  8. All 3 teams above us now lsing and coventry have gt Reading away. 3 teams below us are drawing. Could be a good day if we hold out
  9. Coem on the Owls!!!!!
  10. Good, so I think it's same positions as before kick off would settle for that
  11. Blackpool losing so think we go above them on goal difference (or maybe not as GD the same as is goals scored, we have conceded more though)
  12. That's a lot of changes for one substitute!!!!!!! Fingers crossed.
  13. I wouldn't mind Pearce on and Cork to right back, but not sure about midfield as I assume that means DMG up front. But of course a goal off his backside and I'd buy him a pint tonight. We're still in the hunt, one flukey goal and we're 7 points clear of relegation.
  14. Even those saying promotion, play offs and we is the bestest:rolleyes::rolleyes: As of now we sit 4th bottom, that's the realistic part of following Saints at the moment.
  15. Are you saying a result wouls be a draw??? Cos I would defintiely take that and stay 4 points clear of Charlton.
  16. As at half time we drop down a place. The bottom of the table looks like Norwich-----23 Blackpool----22 Watford-----22 Us----------21 Charlton----17 Forest------16 Donny------14 Can't afford to lose if these results stay the same
  17. Mark Wright (16 caps whilst here) & Dave Watson (18 caps whilst here). After that, Killer as a third choice, then probably Nicholl, Ruddock & Lundekvam. Would loved to have seen how Hall would have panned out if (a) he hadn't have fccukced off, and (b) he hadn't gotten injured.
  18. As it stands we're still 5 points ahead of them. Watford go 1 point above us. Charlton still 4 points adrift from us. Norwich and Blackpool still above us.
  19. So was I!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i.e. Karen Brady getting it from all angles;)
  20. A photo of their League Cup win in the 60's??? Their play off winning team from a few years back??? Picture of Gil Merrick (England international & I think their manager)??? Or maybe Trevor Francis??? Who do I associate with Birmingham??? Jasper Carrot, Noel Blake, Bob Latchford, Karen Brady, so maybe a combination of those!!!!
  21. Just noticed all three teams above us are away from home (although we can only overhaul two of them). Bad news is Watford are at home to Donny, so they have a good chance of overhauling us. But first things first, we need to win and then I presume the next best result for us would be for Watford to lose (or draw).
  22. In the grand scheme of things, you would have to argue that changing pictures in the Boardroom is pretty irrelevant. But when it comes down to the context and situation with which this Club finds itself in, with all these egos fighting each other, it takes on an altogether different perspective. In this case, it is just another sympton of the pettiness, maliase and in fighting (by all parties) which is plaguing the Club at the present time.
  23. I too would be happy with a draw. 5 points from 3 games is a good return and it would also stop Charlton stealing a march on us. That said, given our away form and the fact they are sh11yt3 at the moment, we really could get 3 points here. 1-0 to Saints.
  24. As if;) And it would appear that you have been able to make the same distinction that I have. In that I think it is a great effort in trying to reach out to the fans and to engender a good spirit between the supporters and the players, management and the Club, but at the same time Jan will have to be judged on his success on the pitch.
  25. Season ticket cash would be banked, but it wouldn't flow straight in the P&L figures that were releases, instead it is released as the games are played. Going back to Vectis' point, although normal Mays are quite blank, you have to remember that this May, Leeds played all the way through (with big attendances) as they got to the play offs. So they then pulled in an extra 5,000 punters for every league game, had a play off semi (36,000) and a trip to the Play off final (share of 75,000 punters). That's something like 200,000 extra punters through that season, which could easily be 4million. On top of that pure ticket money, with 25% more fans than us, then I think it wouldn't be too hard to imagine commercial revenues would also be higher. I've just had a look at their season ticket prices and they are actually comparable to what we pay (and I think more in the main stands). I think the main part fo the difference is punters through the door (and associated income they bring with them).
