Too true! He is a an impatient driven and ruthless businessman with no room for sentiment at all! it is these exact features of his charecter and his ability to stay focused on his goal above all else that have in fact got us where we are today so quickly whether we agree with his methods like them or not makes no difference to him! I personally like many others think this time he has gone too far and over stepped what is decent but then I like many others feel a degree of integrity and loyalty still have a place in football!

Fans paying for seats are a minor income stream for clubs in the premiere league and count for even less for those teams in europe! The money comes from worldwide TV, advertising and commercial sales. These in turn increase with success. Cortese has little patience and wants to get there quick. He obviously believed the odds for making this change are in his favour and will accelerate the journey! It is his decision to make and he made it. We might disagree with his decison or agree with it but not like the way he made it! either way we have little to no say in the matter. In a funny sort of Way Nigels success reduced his tenure! there was a five year plan to get us to the premiere and we did it in three thanks largely to Nigel and Cortese's money. I would rather a Chairman who wants to progress than one who who loses his manager by not making the approprite investements to move to the next stage (as per Lowe and Strachan). It seems we may all agree generally with where he wants to take us but are questioning only the how and when as we have sentiments and loyalty and he is driven by business ruthlessness!

However upset we may be and however badly we believe Nigel has been treated, this is the sensible option! Neither the players or the new Manager had any input whatsoever in Cortese's decison! Not supporting the team to somehow get back at Cortese is no more than shooting ourselves in the foot! We are where we are whether we like it or not!

He has that money in Trust i.e he has to invest and behave legally as though it is his and he is accountable for looking after it! We can blame him for the ruthless insensative way he sacked a manager who has been very successful over the last 2.5 years and who was liked and admired by many but we have to admit he has built this club up from the ashes! You dont have to look far down the road to see where we could have been without him! I say this as someone who disagrees intensely with the way Adkins was treated and believe he was getting there this season! But then it is his club and he is responsible for the investment. He is obviously impatient but at least he is ambitious and wants to get there quick. strachan left because Lowe wasnt brave enough to invest for the next stage we are blaming Cortese because he is impatient and maybe rash!

Loved Nigel and all he did and was totally taken aback at the lack of loyalty and sentiment in NC's decision to remove him. However none of this is or can be attributed to MP and I still and will always support the saints, so welcome MP and the best of British luck!
