  1. Good club man Dave Merrington, and Saints through and through, it's nice to have characters with links to the club. Also nice that in his final stint with Solent they've let his great grandson do the commentary alongside him for the last couple of games.
  2. Broja on. Come on Saints!
  3. Offside you Spurs bastards!
  4. 1-1 or 2-1 Saints with a last half hour like West Ham, the Alamo. Bizarrely optimistic.
  5. Get in, always nice to win at West Ham - well done Saints! Merry Christmas lads.
  6. Is it managed by Dennis Rofe?
  7. With Ramsdale, shows you what a really good intelligent keeper can do! Neimi gave us that type of dynamism. Young side with some promising footballers but Saints look out of ideas whenever the tide turns. Think we will stay up if we avoid further Brighton style implosions, but by the skin of our teeth.
  8. Awww bless...
  9. Saints lucky to be just three nil down at half time with Lewis looking shell-shocked. Willy comes on and plays a blinder whilst Adams, Armstrong, and Broja pull it back to 3-3. Ref sticks on six minutes of injury time and in minute ninety-five awards the Arse a penalty, which Willy duly saves. Kicking the ball up field in triumph, it hits goal hanging Redmondo on the back of the nut and loops into the Arsenal goal. Something like that, got to be worth putting a tenner on.
  10. Kelvin could be in for a Christmas bonus by the sound of it.
  11. Plus a bona fide nutcase! What's not to like.
  12. Spot on! For me they will always be the premier shit houses bar none!
  13. When we appeared to have energy and momentum a few years ago Leicester City and a lot of other provincial clubs wanted to emulate us, since then roles have been fully reversed due to their determined ownership and relative stability. If we get decent owners of that ilk, of course we should be looking to win pots and improve infrastructure. A successful Saints side would fill a 40k stadium for home games, and not be in the midlands.
  14. Steady on!
  15. Good post, with some interesting perspective. On that basis, if we had an on song Ings or Beattie per se in this side this season things would likely appear much brighter. Overall its the lack of clinical finishing that's killing us along with the regular chance of a goalkeeping blunder at the other end. I know that's patiently obvious to us as fans, but you would hope that any new owner on the horizon would see that too.
  16. It was written by Jeffrey Archer!
  17. Likely to be Heaton, Caballero, or Scott Carson. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
  18. All the corporate social kudos of a creche run by Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris. Come on INEOS, surely you can knock up some effective pesticide.
  19. His nickname is Michael Lee Chinny Reckon.
  20. Correct.
  21. It was very clear to Saints fans that we needed to recruit a keeper over the summer and you have to hope that it was clear to Hassenhutl and the recruitment team, also. The current young Saints team has all the makings of giving us a rare spell of joy, but the kind of mistakes that McCarthy is regularly capable of will frustrate and unsettle his teammates as well as supporters. If there is money in the kitty (which apparently there is), a new, experienced, first team goalkeeper is the priority in the January window, a late Christmas present for us all.
  22. Fucking Walcott, Christ!
  23. I expect naming him Quincy was a 'boy named Sue' move by Promes senior which has backfired. Still, he should be right on top of the forensics in this case.
  24. Dave Watson lived in a large rendered 'between the wars' property on Brookvale Road in Highfield. Used to see him mowing the lawn - held the lines well as you'd expect! Again a lovely down-to-earth approachable chap.
  25. Seeing some links, albeit rather tenuous, to Arthur Cabral, the prolific 23 year old Brazilian striker at Basel. Seems very much a Broja 'type' so unlikely whilst he is on loan at Saints, but perhaps El Gorilla has put a word in about the earthly paradise that is Ocean Village.
