  1. She’s as thick as mince, admittedly, most BBC presenters are, but no need to call her that!
  2. Nigh on impossible to predict Saints at this stage with all the furniture arranging. Ask us when the window bangs shut!
  3. Still angry despite the invention of superglue gel!

I doubt it S86. I get the impression that despite the cool as a cucumber exterior Martin is a bit fiery, lots of blow ups with individuals last year at various matches. Really like that in his make-up, a bit of passion and fire when it's justified. With Lumley on the same side all will be forgiven I'm sure, mainly because he shouldn't be near the first 11
  5. Because of his CV, the usual method of assessment when hiring staff. Same role at Brentford, Arsenal and Malmo since 2019 seems quite an impressive hire for a Championship side.
  6. God yes, I remember that bell-end. The syrup at the time looked like he had a toy poodle glued to his nut, these days with modern technology the weave is much more subtle:
  7. Looks a very good hire.

I am optimistic that we will be challenging, but not prioritising this position looks like a self inflicted injury. In games when things are tight and we ship easy goals pressure will ramp up from both team-mates and the stands. If the new Saints staff are convinced that Bazunu is their number one then so be it, but the insurance of experienced, solid competition would seem a relatively easy hire and settle a lot of nerves.

    Way worse than that.
  10. An interesting one. Good youth pedigree with Arsenal, strong and talented defensive / central midfielder, and key for Rangers under Gerrard. However, doesn't seem to have got over the Prague incident. Would beef up the midfield ahead of Lavia's exit.

Fair play to the gallows humour of the 'Boro fans putting this together, but they were celebrating his departure
  12. Really looking forward to seeing the line up for this opener, and think we are going to win 0-2 or 1-2 depending on how switched on the defence is. For team confidence, be good if Armstrong and Tella score and Bazunu keeps a clean sheet.

There is a blooper highlight reel, fucking hell! Perhaps he’s being brought in as a form of aversion therapy for Bazunu -

If you look online there is loads of previous with RM as a manager, sending offs and all sorts. When necessary lots of passion and he doesn’t take any shit - more Shaolin than Bhuddist. Like that about him. 🌶️😀

Interesting as Russell Martin and Lumley have a bit of recent previous - love how our manager can be a feisty fucker but forgive afterwards, very zen 😀
  17. Especially with the new contract announcement.
  18. Yep, it’s a fucker to have both in the first team!
  19. Hopefully Buffalo Soldier as the soundtrack this time, lighten the mood.
  20. This is my view. When he returned against Brighton I was grimacing at every challenge and tackle, felt like Rodriguez all over again. Would have been the same throughout the season in the Championship, a tough division for a young player carrying an injury. Realistically we went into summer with five or six players likely to be coveted by Prem clubs, if the window closes and we’ve hung on to one or two it’s a result.
  21. This emphasises Wilcox's point about certain players possessing a Premier League value and others thinking that they do. We are a Championship side and the 'natural' place for genuine talent is in the division above. I find it refreshing that we appear to be holding firm with high valuations, the best a club in our position can do. The second part of the strategy, reinvestment is the one we really need to work!
  22. This is the crux, Newcastle are loaded but this is a bit of a punt. If he stays fit and returns to his best they've got a very good player, but one hell of a risk.
  23. SKY reporting that a deal has been struck now. Got to be north of £30m
  24. Given the tenuous situation with the likes of Tino and Lavia, our young starlets, this is all about Saints making as much profit as possible. If that is the case here then comfortable with it. In many ways getting the big saleable assets away with decent time left in the window is the nearest thing we are going to get to an advantage. Focus on getting a win tomorrow then Martin can confirm to Wilcox who he wants as replacement(s).
