  1. Oooerr get her I assumed it was a poor quality photo and that he would have spots as he was part Dalmatian. Sorreeeee!
  2. I remember a cabbie being murdered near Six Dials way back. I was working in the Register Office at the time and the police thought the suspect had been in to the office. I was interviewed and asked if I could remember him coming in. I think he was trying to arrange a wedding. I failed badly when asked to describe him. I don't remember the outcome.
  3. Try again, love. I think you'll find that EU regulations state that electrical goods should last a 'reasonable time' - and I think that's generally accepted to be 2 years.
  4. I always try in places like Comet and Currys. They rarely move on price but I've often managed to get a few freebies thrown in. Recently, I brought a new Dyson for my daughter. Went through the 'what's your best price' routine and ended up getting a couple of extras for her Dyson and a mini Dyson for my little granddaughter.
  5. Oh he's soooooo cute Hammy! What a great cross - we used to have a Dalmatian and a Labrador. You've got the best of both in one cute puppy. Call him Spot?
  6. And, to join in the hysteria, it turns out the guy found in a stream in Coxford may have died because he'd been attacked. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-10776296
  7. She sounds like my cat! Who is called Cat. We adopted her when her owners died. They'd called her Emily. I used to have a Tortie many years ago called Millie.
  8. I think this is quite funny
  9. I don't think the EU takes religious affiliation into account when considering applications for membership. And also I think Turkey actually has a very secular society.
  10. What on earth are you blathering on about Nick? Difference between what? ( I assume you've aimed the above at me - can't think of anyone else fitting the 'description').
  11. Supposing people entering your quiz are members of TSW?
  12. But we should recognise quality rather than quantity surely?
  13. Back on topic - there's a very thought-provoking article in the Guardian today: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jul/27/blake-morrison-jon-venables
  14. I don't think it's anything to do with the ConDems. In fact I know it isn't. It's up to the local authorities because they fund the local traffic partnerships. It's the local authorities making cuts and deciding not to fund these partnerships anymore.
  15. OK I'll allow that Buildings
  16. Very interesting take on the matter in today's Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/jul/26/evidence-real-war-motorists-look-mortuary
  17. This happens already, so I've been told. A cost is calculated and then attributed according to each parent's income. That's why a divorce judge will expect a woman to take on paid work once the children are of school age. Whether this generally happens in practice I don't know. But I do have a couple of female friends who contribute more to the cost of bringing up their children than their ex-partners do.
  18. Good on him. I bet he is really smug knowing he's having a good time whilst his children are maybe not having such a good time.
