  1. Well, it probably doesn't matter in private industry, but the sh*t would hit the fan if there wasn't an audit trail in local government / NHS. How else can I prove that bribes have / have not been offered / taken :yawinkle:
  2. Steve Claridge on BBC1 South just now has said: Thinks Poopey will be safe (damn ) Reading - close end to the season - play offs Us - hoping that there will be a club by the end of the season. Reckons we'll go down. Not sure if survival in the CCC is the main concern of the club!
  3. But I love PRINCE. It makes my life as an auditor so much easier if a good audit trail is established, as required by PRINCE.
  4. Nice sentiment, but I think administrators look only at best offers, not emotions. Unfortunately.

You're right - there's not been a stable government in Israel for a long time. Their governments have been mainly coalition if I remember rightly. I think it's been pointed out before, but it's worth repeating it. Israel is about to hold an election. Nothing like a war to get the popular vote, is there.

There haven't been 'peaceful times' in the area since partition in the 1940s.

But if the Israelis hadn't blockaded them for months beforehand, the situation might not be as volatile as it is now. These people haven't had regular power, water or basic commodities like flour to make bread for a long time before the current situation. No wonder the Palestinians had to make moves to try to get the blockade shifted.
  8. Getting a PRINCE qualification might help too.

TDD, days ago on this thread I thought I made it clear that I think both sides are to blame and that my concern was for the innocents suffering. It seems to me that those innocents are predominately Palestinian civilians and especially children. How can it be right not to allow aid in to help four children who had spent days next to the dead body of their mother. They were unable to stand because they were weak with starvation. I can remember, years ago, visiting Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and being incredibly upset a photos of Jewish babies being used for target practice by German troops. It was quite the worst thing I've ever seen in my life and has stayed in my mind since. The slaughter of innocents in Palestine is equally horrific. I'm not taking sides but I am trying to balance your support for Israel by pointing out that there's evil on both sides. To me, it is hypocritical for Israel to deny humanitarian aid; fuel, food, water, medical supplies and to choose the bits of international law it will abide by or ignore.
  10. He should beat Roddick tomorrow I think. IIRC, Roddick hasn't beaten him yet. Good omen for the Australian Open I would think.
  11. One of my daughters is an IT Project Manager. It's not THAT well paid but she does work for a Housing Association so maybe that's why.

I was actually talking about the fact that the UN gave the co-ordinates of civilian establishments such as the UN school and a retirement home to Israel. Nonetheless, Israel bombed those two establishments. And refused to allow humanitarian relief in to help people injured in those blasts.

Every country has the right to self defence. Every country also has the legal duty to conform to International conventions. Israel is manifestly failing to do this.
  14. Andy Murray has beaten Roger Federer yet again. Is there no stopping this guy this year?
  15. I think, in reality, they are just looking for an insurance payout so that they can have further surgery. It's not that unusual for people to sue relatives / close friends in name whereas they're really just claiming on insurance. Mind you, her premiums will go up a penny or two
  16. I wish it were that simple! It's a car seat with Isofix fixings that also locks onto a wheeled base. It has a newborn car seat that can transform into an older child's car seat as well apparently. Don't ask me - I'm only the Bank of Mum and Dad
  17. I wonder if he has to do as he's told - or lose his job?
  18. They do work. I've got long hair and our shower sometimes gets blocked with my 'sheddings'. However, one time it blocked and then leaked into the floor / ceiling below. Turned out the plumber hadn't installed the drain-away under the shower properly when the house was built (it's only 5 years old). Some of the shower water was draining into the ceiling void
  19. Doesn't the 81% INCLUDE these six plus all the others rather than these six being the ONLY wages behind the 81%? Or am I being dense?
  20. Euuuuuwwwww - I'm not takiing this conversation any further :smt078
  21. Maybe the blockage has been caused by 'frozen' fat?
  22. LOL have you seen the dates of those reports? Reuters is shown as 7 February 2009 and Wrights is 30 January 2009!
  23. Friday - zilch really. Maybe chill with some DVDs Sat - Mr TF on day shift so housework I guess Sun - Mr TF still on day shift. Off to see youngest (very pregnant) daughter, to admire the newly decorated nursery and the travel system we've just remortgaged the house to buy. Then visit other daughter and granddaughter (who is teething so that'll be fun )
  24. Oh dear, it would seem not. Only bankrupts are debarred from company directorships: An undischarged bankrupt is in any event prohibited from acting as a director or taking part or being concerned directly or indirectly in the promotion, formation or management of a company except with the permission of the court by which he was adjudged bankrupt during the currency of his bankruptcy. 5 Solicitor's Office guidance should be sought in cases where it is proposed to prosecute a bankrupt Here's a link to a good explanation of bankruptcy, administration, liquidation, receivership etc. http://www.hse.gov.uk/enforce/enforcementguide/investigation/identifying/insolvency.htm
  25. Probably not to ostriches, TBF
