I assume you're working on the premise that we had blockaded Portsmouth? Because that's the salient point.

Equally you cannot deny that the Palestinians have been starved of investment opportunity, and, more importantly, basics such as food, fuel and medicines. Or that Hamas was democratically elected to be the government but is not recognised as the legitimate voice of the Palestinians. Any nation, effectively blockaded and without the basics for existence, will try all means available to it to try to change that. Whilst our geographic situation means that that is unlikely ever to happen to us, we would do the same if the circumstances were the same. Both sides have to talk.
  16. I'm sure I read somewhere that his first name was Arthur.

  21. AND FINALLY Fans were surprised when health and safety chiefs put up signs at Southampton's FA Cup clash with Manchester United warning of "flying footballs". One Saints fan said: "The number of shots we've had this season, I don't think there's much danger of being hit by any of our players." (Daily Star) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/7812907.stm
  22. Yes I guess that might be the case, but his CV's not going to look so hot, is it?
