  1. Been living with one for 13 years now and he's very OK. Decent, hardworking and intelligent. He's very, very embarrassed by all the goings-on down there and wishes they'd just fold and start again. He's so not interested now, he didn't even know who they were playing last Saturday. But he still drew the line at watching us on TV on Sunday And he's trying to persuade me we should 'adopt' a neutral nearby team to jointly support such as Wycombe Wanderers!
  2. Politics will never be forgotten. We all have political views whether with a small or large P. The fact that people with a particular set of values choose to congegrate in one political party or another is irrelevant. Nearly every decision or viewpoint people make in life is driven by their political values. "The singular politic first attested in English 1430 and comes from Middle French politique, in turn from Latin politicus,[4] which is the latinisation of the Greek πολιτικός (politikos), meaning amongst others "of, for, or relating to citizens", "civil", "civic", "belonging to the state",[5] in turn from πολίτης (polites), "citizen"[6] and that from πόλις (polis), "city"." Thanks Wiki
  3. Interesting article in the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2012/aug/17/top-economists-advice-george-osborne?CMP=SOCNETTXT6966
  4. Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton told BBC Radio Solent: "Bournemouth are having a right go at it. "They've got wealthy backers and they have spent a few quid." And Pompey haven't? They've got wealthy backers - the tax man, the tax payers, the local businesses, local charities......
  5. But surely any increase in the Trust's coffers will increase at a lower rate than Trev's fees? So their predicament will increase the longer admin goes on.
  6. I'd still be interested to know how many loans they've got in. I can spot 4: Andersen, Clifford, Connolly and Long. Are there any more loanees do we know?
  7. OK we've just watched it and I'm still in bits. Brilliant, just brilliant and it brought back memories of my (very small) involvement with Stoke Mandeville (which was and still is nowhere near as pretty as shown in the film). That film deserves an award and jeez what an amazing man he was.
  8. They're only allowed to have 5 loanees in the squad, I'm told
  9. Neil Allen ‏@pn_neil_allen That's 15,300 tickets sold for tomorrow's #Pompey game. Seems the fans' 'lack of support' was entirely for you Mr Chainrai, not their club.
  10. Portsmouth FC ‏@officialpompey #PackThePark fans are still queuing round the corner to secure their seats for tomorrows south coast derby! pic.twitter.com/duhkQSLl Twenty there at a push?
  11. Thanks - will catch it there then.
  12. I'm finding it tough to work out who they have 'signed' and who is on loan. Any of you been keeping tabs on this?
  13. Bugger - missed it I had quite a lot to do with Stoke Mandeville Spinal Injuries unit many years ago (via Jimmy Saville) and I was amazed, humbled and sometimes sad when I visited.
  14. Portsmouth FC ‏@officialpompey Almost 15,000 tickets sold for tomorrow's #Pompey v Bournemouth clash: http://tinyurl.com/d4fx98o Flash in the pan IMO
  15. Comment From Phil Any news on Westwood's injury from last night? If it's bad could we get other coaches to play instead?
  16. I voted for 'other'
  17. Comment From Perplexed Pompey Paul There must be investers out there with enough funds. Pompey is such a great club they could turn this around we could be playing in Europe in a few years Not sure if this is tongue-in-cheek or just plain delusion
  18. Comment From Nemo Maybe it's time to go back to Joseph Cala to see if he's still interested now Chainrai is out of the way? LOL
  19. Ignoring my post about what would happen if MA walked. Anyone filling his shoes would have to be brain dead. I wonder why
  20. Don't think so - he's still tweeting. He's just a coward
  21. He probably meant District Valuer http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/about/dvs.htm "DVS also publishes an annual property market report which gives an independent picture of various property markets across the UK." from the District Valuers' own website: "The VOA is one of the largest employers of Chartered Surveyors in the UK"
  22. Neil Allen ‏@pn_neil_allen Portpin haven't gone away. Still need to be negotiated with over ground. Rejected Trust £2.75m offer in past. Want 4 times that. #Pompey 3m Micah Hall ‏@blueballoo2000 @pn_neil_allen but birch can take that to court much more easily now. Actual value of fp, £2.1m - district auditor.
