I thought it could be one of two things. 1) he's reasonably confident of getting at least one of those players or why mention them? Failure to do so and to then recruit lesser alternatives just makes you look like you've failed to attract your main targets or 2) he's seen all the links and has 'joined the conversation' in order to keep our real targets under wraps.

Isn't that basically telling us, "come and get him, €25 million and he's yours!"...?

Maybe. But I guess football is like any workplace industry. Players from our team know and talk to other players from other teams who they remain in contact with and, in domestic terms, could know if we actively trying to sign players from those others teams. I certainly keep in touch with mates from former workplaces and have a reasonable knowledge of goings on there. Here's hoping that deals are all just being kept super quiet to avoid interest from competitors and not just there's nowt going on!

Interesting, either we're biding our time waiting for the right players to become available or maybe MP did keep his word and did get all his business done by July 1st.

Amazingly no. Lee Todd was w*nk at Prem level whilst Molyneux was cr*p in the Championship.

Just seen this on the Beeb site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23088215 Thought he was pretty pants in his 4 games for us at left back but good to see he is now carving out a career in the lower leagues as a winger. 8 goals in 12 games is fairly impressive stuff and now he's moved to Crewe, he'll get a chance to see if he can cut it at League 1 level.

If there truly is a meeting with the player, surely (a) the player is at the very least slightly interested or why bother with the meeting and (b)hopefully he'd have an awareness of what's on offer before flying in from Brazil?
