January 2014 Transfer news & rumours
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
No wonder he put in a decent shift on Sunday... -
Any news on the others? Big Vic or Osvaldo?

Disappointing stuff. Anyone know why Dani wasn't playing? Assuming Shaw had a knock and Clyne wasn't quite ready? Some positives -Lallana, Chambers and a goal from open play for Rickie. Too many negatives, though - Fox, Gazza and Jos the main ones. Surely Jos is going to be investigated soon by the match fixing investigation team with the rate of own goals he's getting? 4 in a season and a half and he's not even been a regular! Also, "how does the Fox play? Sh*t, Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t..." Merry Xmas all!

Trade in Poopey fans you know at this brand new outlet... Rates are poor though as they're not worth much.

Wonderful book which I received as a birthday present recently (only slightly marred by the fact they included my wife's name in the book instead of mine, as she intended. Ho hum.

Lambert in for Jay Rod maybe?
-
I reckon Cork will have been benched for Gaston or Rickie or something odd like that.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Buggeration. Not good. Thought this was the one amongst 3 other very tough games we'd get something from. Now we need something from a City side who are starting to fire. -
Gazza was in goal when we beat Villa 4-1 last season. This must be an omen.
-
I'd go with this if Boruc and Morgan are fit, which I doubt, and have a right go at Villa from the off. If not I guess it's Gazza and JWP to step in.
-
I just feel he needs a proper run in the side, in a settled formation to pick up patterns of play, learn how others play and to know when and where they will play passes. So far he's had an injury, been part of a front 2, up front on his own, a bit part sub and that's bound to affect someone who is still settling in. If he'd been here througout pre season I feel that would've really helped but now it's about staying in the team and getting a goal or 2 will do him the world of good in terms of confidence. I would still like to see how he would do alongside someone like Gaston who I feel would be on a similar wavelength but Gaston seems massively out of favour so he will need to learn to fit alongside the others and that will only come with games.

Unless this was the caption - MoPo: "Dani, I've just told the press you'll be here at the end of the season."

Eh? Sorry, wrong thread. Bearsy, for the acceptance speech alone. -
Arsenal - worst fans in football?

So the Emirates is just a bigger version of the Highbury library then? -
Rickie Lambert: Sports Personality of the Year?

I'd give it to Victoria Pendleton. -
For the right price, I'm sure his interpreter could make sure his interview didn't go as well as MoPo thought it did...

http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/23/multi-tasking-defender-takes-out-two-strikers-at-the-same-time-video-4198646/ Clearly no suggestion we're linked with him but if this fella can deal with 2 strikers at once, it would free up an extra place up front...! -
As it stands, do we have a better team than ENGLAND?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
I'd say Wanyama, JWP and Schneiderlin give a much better midfield base than Lampard, Wilshere and Milner that's for sure. -
When was the last time Rickie was out for a bit through injury (not suggesting he will be now but just can't really recall the last time)? It would be a shame if he is out for a bit but it also makes me think of how far we've come in that a couple of years ago this would have really derailed us but I feel, even though we are in the Prem, it is now something we can cope with.
-
He's a bit good isn't he? If he stays, could achieve Le God like status with more performances like today.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Hull City

Brilliant stuff. Magnificent in the first half and comfortable in the 2nd following initial complacency. Lallana out of this world ably supported by the rest of the group. So proud the team I support is now 3rd in the Prem after all of our travails. Marvellous. -
Thought he did well when he came on. Looked more mobile than before his injury and gave us some impetus when we needed it. That is all.

Rickie, Adam and J-Rod in England squad

Stunning stuff and well deserved too. Shame about Clyne but good to know he is on Roy's radar and I'm sure his chance will come eventually.
