Sounds underwhelming on the transfer front after the comparative high after Tuesday. Think we are settling for what we have this season, affording the chance for some of the kids to grow into the 1st team as we are relatively safe and will then reassess in the summer. Does give the feeling of drifting toward the finish line rather than having a right good go at the end until the season (which may still happen with the kids but new signings can give tiring squads and the fans a lift).

Wonder if we could tempt Marco Boogers out of retirement?

For me, whether or not we sell also depends on how good we think Targett could be. Those who have seen him, could he be up to Luke's level? We do seem to be able to produce a decent left back in recent years -Bridge, Bale (even though he doesn't plAy there now) & now Shaw.

Some of this, if true, does put a different slant on things but I guess the key questions still are a) has Dani reacted in a way that is grossly worse than what Fonte was doing and b) if there was more to this than originally reported, what is the true extent of his popularity (or lack of) amongst the other players and staff and does it preclude him from playing for us again?
