Southampton set to swoop for Schmeichel
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to golfdelsur's topic in The Saints
Does he know there may be no-one else here? -
Could explain why Poch was happy to continue when back in May, he was prepared to walk out if Cortese left.

2014/15 Kit Revealed - #TheStripesAreBack
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Only Saints could have an own brand kit and still get the style wrong... -
Today's sacking should be the very reason MoPo should steer clear. The best win % of any Spurs boss in the Prem and he gets the sack.

Boruc off too???
-
Incredible to see us turning down a bid that big but absolutely right to do so. Its not enough! Out of interest, what is our record transfer fee received?
-
Get Boruc to organise the mother of all parties.

He probably wants assurance that what happened at Espanyol isn't going to be repeated here. Players sold but no funds to replace them. It'll be sad if Adam & Luke go, he'll probably be disappointed too but if the funds are given, he may feel he can still build a sued to push on.

I see Gaston is training in one of the training gallery photos. Is he actually fit?

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to pap's topic in The Saints
All the jokes and furore aside, I'm sure what Clattenburg said is not a million miles away from the truth. I don't mean in terms of becoming big headed but playing for England, especially performing well enough to potentially secure a starting spot at the World Cup, will change you because it'll make bigger clubs take notice of you and those playing for England at those bigger clubs will no doubt extol the virtues of playing for their team. It's got to be a bit of a head turner and if Liverpool or United come calling. it'll take some serious ambition on our part to stop him moving. Over to you Katharina, Ralph et al to sell the vision to MoPo, Adam, Luke, Morgan and others that we really do want to progress or not. -
http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/reading/transfer-talk/news/bridge-announces-retirement-from-football_153742.html Great player for us & had a decent career but always felt he could've done more. Shame to retire in this way too.

Even Osvaldo & Jonno Quick?

What the hell is the matter with the Daily Mail ???
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I'm sure most of the newspapers pretty much eat out of the hands of the bigger sides, even to the extent of helping them to unsettle their targets in return for an exclusive at some point in the future. I can see Man Utd asking for assistance in unsettling players they've identified in return for exclusive rights next time Rooney has a dump or Liverpool the same the next time Suarez feels hungry on a football pitch. It's the way of the world and, if we do continue to progress as little Ol' Southampton, something we'll have to get used to until we can demonstrate we can fight off the insane bids which come in. -
Brilliant for both players & tremendous for the club as a whole. Well deserved as well.

Is it me or do opposition players shy away from trying to take the ball from Big Vic or avoid 50-50s with him? Quite a few times today it felt there were Everton players who didn't fancy putting their foot in against him.
-
Thought Davis was bl**dy awesome today. Covered every blade, won the ball and showed tremendous skill on numerous occasions. Great player.

Needed a striker in January, especially when Osvaldo left, didn't get one & now reaping what we sowed. Disappointing end to the season. -
For me, it didn't feel like 'us'. Yes, hoping for something stripey next year...

And on Twitter until very recently.

Interesting to see the official Saints Twitter account has changed its avatar from the silver badge on a black background to the normal colour version. It's not happening any more (and I prefer it!)...
