I reckon Koeman just wants to make his own assessment first before saddling himself with a player he may not want. If Jack impresses, & I think he will, he will get a new deal. Jay Rod is a different case, having had more spotlight with an England call up. Clearly Koeman will want to retain a future England squad regular.
