  1. A 'football reporter' on Twitter, called Darryl Pennant, tweeted that we've activated the release clause in Sharp's contract & we're in talks with him although personal terms are again the issue. Summer deja vu?
  2. Just had a thought. Does Tony Finnigan represent anyone else we might be trying to sign? Sordell, Sharp, a CB etc? A kind of: you sort out the Puncheon situation and my client will sort out his move to you thing. Nah! Second thoughts - way too conspiratorial...
  3. Good. We wanted a winger, we have a very talented one on our books not being used, we will now be using that winger and he's available immediately. Best way to make amends Punch is to fire us to the Prem (probably the quickest way for you to get back there too).
  4. Would be a good signing but why would Cardiff sell to us now?
  5. Would be a real boost if this did happen after Monday. Was definitely on odd thing for NA to offer so fingers crossed!

  7. I guess we never found out whether Sharp really was in the stands on Monday? And it's all gone quiet on the news front for this too. Just the way we like to do our business! Just need a tweet from Jordan Sibley about it going to be a long day today & it'd be all systems go!
  8. According to a Beeb journo, Cortese was in s meeting this afternoon with Puncheon & a PFA rep, regarding his Twitter comments. Maybe too busy then to progress the Sharp deal & it might all pick up again tomorrow?
  9. Maybe but what if the Celtic board are more willing to negotiate a fee than Lennon would like or admit? What if Hooper is making it clear that he's not as happy as his proclamations on their OS? That way they may be more anxious if we go elsewhere? Just a thought really.
  10. Alan Nixon, the Mirror journo on Twitter, said that he was surprised there's been no progress on the Sharp deal today. Combine that with Bucks' comment about going back with a new bid for Hooper & maybe we're using Sharp to lever a deal for Hooper.
  11. I can see the attraction of Wigan to Maynard actually. If he goes there & does well & they stay up, he continues on in the Prem. If he does well & they're relegated, he stands a good chance of being snapped up by another Prem side with a signing on bonus. If he flops, he's on Prem wages for the duration of his contract (relegation clause permitting). Win, win or win. The situation with Sharp & Hooper is also quite straightforward for me. Sharp wanted x amount in wages, which we haven't really responded on. Some are saying Hooper only wants a little more, if true, to join so we pursued the striker NA considered his top choice. Celtic though are clearly unwilling to sell so we've returned to Sharp, who we see as a slightly lesser player wanting slightly lesser wages. I hope we get him as I think he'd be ideal playing off Lambo or holding the fort without him.
  12. Could be useful to help the crowd sing in tune a little more but apart from that I don't see the relevance.
  13. I'm not saying Sharp is the best of the players we've been linked with but I just have a feeling he could be the best one for us. He can play off Lambert but he can also play as the main striker too. Quick off the mark rather than blindingly quick and would be alive to some of the balls dropping the box that perhaps some of our current attacking options aren't. Hooper was sort of similar in that respect, from what I'd seen.
  14. Alan Nixon is a Mirror journo.
  15. So, do we know yet whether Sharp was at the game last night? Which hotel do we usually use to store our intended purchases? Has anyone served breakfast to a Mr Sharp this morning? Or did he run screaming back up to Yorkshire, if he did take in our 'performance' last night?
  16. Pilchards? Where are you? Any new news on Sharp?
  17. If he saw us tonight, he may well reconsider who to join (if he really was there!). Hasper's comment is interesting: could be interpreted as asking because he's seen the Mirror article or it could be because he in some way knows he was there. Surprised Sky didn't locate him during the coverage, if he was.
  18. Bubble & burst well & truly. Enjoyable whilst it lasted, quality has to be added to bolster the squad not cheap foreign gambles if NC's desire to win the League is true. Difficult not to be "too low when we lose" after that one.
  19. Just watch us score in injury time, just too late to properly fight back...
  20. And a lack of decent back up/proper competition for places.
  21. Maybe he was trying to appease the Don by keeping it quiet with a denial?
  22. I do wonder whether we've been given an indication of what would be an acceptable offer for someone else & we've been matching this off against what we've been offering for Hooper & we're now at the point whether the other mystery individual is the more viable option, hence no further bid for Hooper. I do get the feeling that our activity in this window is not yet at an end. Only a hunch though!
  23. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7445811/Saints-move-on-from-Hooper Sky suggesting we've got other targets, including Rhodes.
  24. Check his Twitter, is he at the airport yet?
  25. Did anyone get a Van Damme shirt? One I considered but I'm glad I avoided!
