  1. We all know where we are now; let the final battle commence! Think we'll get something at Blackpool & something has to give between West Ham & Reading.
  2. Full drinks with canapes.
  3. When Palace sold Ian Wright to Arsenal and were linked with Alan Shearer as a replacement but ultimately ended up with Marco Gabbiadini, I seem to recall saying I wish we'd sold them Shearer and got Gabbiadini ourselves. I was mocked and derided by my friends. The time has now come for me to man up and say: "they were right". I have learnt since then and told anyone who'd listen (and many who didn't want to) that Adkins would be perfect for us, when he was first linked with the job. I like to think I called this one ok...
  4. They're going for relegation?
  5. If it was Barney, are you sure he said calm down?
  6. Great stuff. Just too Sharp for them weren't we? (Did you see what I did there!)
  7. Seen on a few threads thoughts on some of Nigel's post & pre match comments & it's made me wonder what sort of manager style (PR-wise) others would prefer? I think Nigel's "on the bus", "in the building" & "endeavouring to win football matches" are quite endearing although some would consider them a little dull considering how brilliantly he's done for us. To give some options, in (fairly) recent years we've had: Nigel's Nigelisms Harry Redknapp's front & bullsh*t Gordon Strachan's directness and (at times caustic) wit Lawrie McMenemy's larger than life personality Alan Ball's excitement and enthusiasm Steve Wigley's clueless clown act* *also purveyed by Ian Branfoot and Stuart Gray Any thoughts, anyone?
  8. Someone always survives. I've seen it in films. By my calculations it'll be Harry Redknapp.
  9. Diggers, on the match build up thread, has said Billy will be starting today vs Donny. No idea if true, obviously, but sure he was the poster who claimed to know Billy (or someone who does). Hope it's true and the game which really kickstarts Billy's career at SMS. Lambert & Sharp could be awesome...
  10. Good stuff. That is unless Nige finds its been leaked on here...
  11. But I believe they're about to sign Benik Afobe on loan from the Arse as a replacement.
  12. If Guly & Lee are out maybe Sharp will start vs his old mates? Or SDR to step in after doing well last night? Puncheon to hold his place too?
  13. Step forward Billy Sharp. Time to start paying off that transfer fee!
  14. Nige said Connolly took a kick on the knee against Barnsley and could be out too though...
  15. Millwall 0-5 Saints (Lambert, Sharp 3, Fonte) Barnsley 2-1 Reading Leeds 2-1 West Ham Carlsberg don't do top of the table Championship results...
  16. Would like to see Sharp & Lambo given another go but could see Nige bringing in Chappers on the right with Guly up front.
  17. Taking him a long time to drive along the M27. Is there actually any susbtance to this rumour?
  18. Spoilsport. Make him the mascot then!
  19. Sign him up. And make him captain for the day on April 7th.
  20. I guess we're Donny fans for the day, for the 2nd time in 4 days? Hopefully Billy will have called his old mates to gee them up for the game!
  21. Lambert wins? Too f**king right.
  22. Aged 38 from Shoreham, near Brighton. First home game escapes me but, living where I do, first away game was at the Goldstone during 82/83 season; a 1-0 win with a goal from Danny Wallace. Saints allegiance comes from my Eastleigh-based Uncle who took me to my first couple of games at The Dell, got me my first replica kit and I was hooked. Much to the annoyance of my other Brighton-based relatives... Hold on a minute; handing out these details, have I just been groomed?
  23. ...to start on Sat vs Barnsley? What does everyone reckon? Sharp for me as he offers the greatest goal threat of the 3. Lee has been doing well but will he score enough goals?
  24. Disappointed but was only expecting a draw on Sat so evened out there. Need a win on Sat to make it a good week still IMO. Still in our hands with Reading to come to SMS.
  25. Steven Davis would be a good shout to strengthen the midfield. I like Deano as competition to Morgan & Cork but Davis is a level up.
